What's your Favorite Christmas Story?

The song thread started me thinking about my favorite story this time of year. There are so many!!!

No question for me, though, my favorite is A Christmas Carol. We had a tape of it when I was growing up and I memorized the whole thing. Accents and all. I can recite the whole thing to this day. I love it. So hopeful!!!

Olive, the Other Reindeer. (As in "All-of-the other reindeer, da da dee da dee da dum") A dog called Olive, voiced by Drew Barrymore, gets convinced by her pet flea that when Blitzen was injured and Santa stated on the radio that he might have to cancel Xmas unless "all of the other reindeer" could help, that Santa has made a special appeal to her, Olive, to be his other reindeer and help pull the sleigh so all the kids can have their Xmas.

It is a loony story, full of jokes, some cool songs, Joe Pantaliano voices the penguin-stolen-watch-salesman escaped from the zoo who accompanies her to the North Pole to speak to Santa. There is also a rabid postman who sings "ba bug and hum" which sums up his anti attitude to Xmas and who tries to sabotage Olive's trek to reach Santa and who steals all the toys from Santa when the sabotage effort fails. He also fills Santa's sack with alternative Xmas mail from all the kiddies written by himself along the lines of "Santa, don't come to my house, JOnny" and "Santa, lose some weight and get a real job".

I tell ya, it's a hoot and I love it as much as my kids!

But I also watch "It's a Wonderful Life" because I just love Jimmy Stewart.

My favorite Christmas movie is "It's a Wonderful Life". My favorite short story is "How The Grinch Stole Christmas".
