What's your fashion strength?

The flip-flop: I have absolutely no problem "resisting" the infinite array of this item in the world (and the podiatrist bills it creates).

Anything Tory Burch: Obviously her wealthy family paid off the stores to carry her garish stuff and try to pass it off as classy.

The Coach handbag: Was once a sign of good taste. Now it's all logo all the time, and overpriced.

The Hunter Boot: Unless you live in a flood zone, I just don't get it.

The Jimmy Choo shoe: Only if for some reason you NEED to empty out your bank account and make your podiatrist a friend for life.

The Bermuda short: Even Heidi Klum's knees would look ugly in 'em.

The skort: This needs an explanation.

The shelf bra: Offers no support and makes it uncomfortable to wear your own support.

What's yours?

I concur on everything but the shorts and the skort. Well, I must clarify that I only like skorts that don't look like skorts, like the nike golf skirts. I also think that the right slim-cut, correct length bermuda short can look great with the right shoe, but like capris, they can be difficult to not look stubby-legged.

I'm also getting really, really tired of all the empire waisted and baby doll style tops and dresses.

I agree with everything you posted, Nancy... most especially skorts and flip flops. I DO NOT do either of them. I don't even get why either are fashionable either. Ick!

Bermuda shorts have also never had a home in my closet.

And I too am VERY tired of the empire waist/baby doll style. I don't like it. I will not buy it. It seems like it's been around a couple of years now and I have yet to buy one single, solitary thing made like this. It's just not flattering. I am ready for that style to move on!

Ugg boots

Ripped Denim: I went shopping in the Lucky Brand outlet several weeks back and had one heck of a time finding denim bottoms in there that weren't ripped. WTH!? If I want that, I can do it myself! I'm not paying good $$$ for that!

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I must say I am a flip-flop, Coach and empire waist fan. I also have a skirt that I consider to be a style of skort. It looks like a regular skirt but has shorts underneath. It's not the type that looks like a skirt from the front and shorts from the back-I used to own of few of them back in the day though. :p

No empire babydoll tops ever. No Coach bags ever. NO Dooney & Burke bags either. But I do love flipflops and ripped denim. Also tank tops with built in bras don't work for me either. Also love scarves, military style jackets and cargo pants. Like short boots, clogs and Worishofer sandals--the slip on wedge style.

I agree Gmonkey. The empire waist baby doll look is cute only if you're under the age of 7.

Okay, I confess to liking the empire waist. You gals just don't have anything to hide in the mid-section like I do!

Now, Nancy, will you still hang with me when we finally meet in a few weeks if I'm wearing an empire waist top? I need to know when I'm packing!!!:D

This is hysterical! I have a closet full of Teva flip-flops, skorts, and empire waists shirts...and yes, I wear all of the above to work. :p

Title Nine is a girls best friend. ;)

TeTe, I'm so excited to see you, you could come in a clown suit and it wouldn't make a difference to me! For me "fashion" is fun, but meaningless. Some of my favorite people in the world wear flip-flops, and my DH wears jeans that are too short with white socks and black shoes. Or at least he would if I let him. :p He's oblivious.

Teva doesn't count. Teva shoes have great arch support and are good for your feet. For the purposes of this thread "flip flop" shall be deemed to mean those flat-as-a-board thingies. :p

Gayle, I'm wearing my Merrell flops as we type!!!!

Sorry, TeTe. Merrell doesn't count either. Like Teva, Merrell makes orthodically correct shoes that are good for your feet. I wish I could wear Merrell! They're so cute, but they run a bit too wide for my foot.

Whew!!!:p I promise, no clown suit! (I'd scare my own self!).

There's that cute pic of you! And, speaking of fashion, I do love your tee!

I'm a flip flop Ho and my strength is having the ability to find all kinds of cute ones. Love the flip flop look. :D

This is me exactly!! I cannot resist cute flip flops, have probably 40 pairs.
What i can resist:
Vera Bradley anything
Coach anything
anything with stripes

Def. Manolos--not that I can't afford them, just that I have no desire to spend that kind of money on a shoe that's nothing more than an overpriced torture device.

Skinny jeans. No one looks good in skinny jeans except, you know, super skinny people.

I LOVE babydolls & empires--if they're cut right they can be very flattering.

OK Nancy, do my patent Weitzman flip flops w/the cute little flower in the center count? Or are we making a distinction betw. flip flops & thongs? ;)

BTW, any shoe other than a flip flop on the Jersey shore is just, well, TOTALLY unfashionable! :p
