What's with the Boo Bahs?

My first impression of these were what are they? Second I cannot imagine them helping children learn to talk right, and it would be small children liking this. Who thinks this stuff up? It would be my nightmare.

The person who created Teletubbies also created Boobah. It is a woman in her 50's or 60's (saw an interview with her once). My kids (2 and 4) have no interest in either one, but they love the old Scooby Doo from when I was a kid, which they currently show on Boomerang.

I had a feeling they were "related" somehow, but for some reason, I thought they were a Japanese invention (like extreme game shows, or transformers, or Pokeman).

I would never have guessed a women in her 50's or 60's. Maybe she's suffering from premature dementia??

Yes I agree, what the heck ARE these funky things.

My daughter likes to go on pbs kids.org and play some of the games and she always goes to the boohbah and it DOES sound like a bunch of farts. I always tell her that. Then she prints out some of the pictures of them. She brought my husband one and he said "who's this?", "Penis head?"
