WHat's with "subthreads"?

It seems that now, longer threads are divided into shorter "subthreads" and show up a bit differently (you see some posts, then below them the "tree"for more posts (labeled "subthreads"), then more posts. Did they tweak the forum in the last day or so?

RE: WHat's with

I have been experiencing problems with this also, especially in the Slim Series and Polenta threads.

I was wondering if I was the only one since nobody had said anything until now. Good thread! ;-)

RE: WHat's with

Let's hope that this upgrade will tell us which thread we are being notified for when they email us - I am still irritated that it no longer does this!!

Runathon, the Polenta thread really threw me for a loop, thought my computer was malfunctioning.

RE: WHat's with

It looks prettier but but I do prefer to be able to read the whole topic in one go.
Also, some of the pages like the "Forums - Post a message" page and the main list look askew in my browser since the upgrade. Everything on the left hand side looks squished and lengthened like this:

The list of smilies on the post a message page look even more squished! I'm using a Mac and Safari 1.0 as my browser.

RE: WHat's with

So, what browser are you using? I had been using Netscape then accidently used explorer (this was a couple of weeks ago) Suddenly everything looked better. I haven't seen those subthreads and I just read the Polenta discussion.

Safari is the browser for Macs written by Apple. Microsoft doesn't make Internet Explorer for Mac any more (it never worked properly anyway but it's better than Netscape ;) ) and Netscape is no more. There are other browsers around for Macs, but Safari is the best around, IMHO. I have to say that I prefer it over Internet Explorer for the PC (I have IE6 on my WinXP computer) and I love my PC and love I.E.! I just love my Mac and Safari a lot more :D and use it almost exclusively. Most Web sites look and work perfectly, just a few have a problem.

You can still see all on one page if you want

Just under the first message you can click to see a view with all the messages, rather than in the sub message format. Kind of like how view all would show you everything, but just clicking on the message would do it one at a time.

AHA! I thought it was my computer. I use a Mac & safari as well. Thanks for putting that into your comment! Now I know it's not me.
