What's the hardest workout you did?

Hi all,

I was just wondering for those of you who consider yourself "advanced" exercisers before you got pregnant. What was the hardest type of workout you were able to do late in your pregnancy? Cardio (if so, which of Cathe's), resistance training (again, if so, which of Cathe's)? Etc.

I was doing the Gym Styles at the end of my preg for weight lifting. I also loved the Total Body premix on Drill Max!

Cardio became tough at the very end because my belly was so big, so the toughest cardio (at the time) for me was simply the Low Impact steps (old and 4DS) and Low Max. For some reason, those were always harder than the cardio only premixes on LIC, for example. I also did TaeBo up until month 8.

Hmmm. I had to stop doing Harcore Xtreme and the Terminator after the second trimester, and had to take away the step doing drills like 2 foot jumps on and off the step like in Drill Max after about 7.5 months. I just felt so akward and unsafe jumping like that. Kickboxing started to really hurt toward the very end...it seemed like every kick the baby would push more and more on my pelvic nerves. However, I was so sick during the first trimester I was lucky to work out 3 times/week!:p

I did Spinning classes right up until 2 days before I had my daughter. I was not able to handle any other fast-paced cardio (step, running). Besides the Spinning classes, I did a lot of walking on hills. For weights, I found I was pretty much able to keep up with my "normal" load, except for shoulder work which I had to decrease. For legs, I decreased the amount I lifted by the amount of weight I had gained and that seemed to work fine. I don't remember the specific workouts I did, but I think I did the Pyramids a lot. I had a C-section, so wasn't allowed to ramp back up until 6 weeks, but by 3 months after I had my daughter I was back to my original strength & cardiovascular fitness levels.

I did Powerstrike the day before I gave birth and max 2 & 3 within a couple of weeks before birth. Just couldn't get up as high. Kept up my weight workots w Cathe right until the end to. For abs at the end, i like preggi bellies. I just kept geting up each day and did the most I could. It wasn't always easy but paid off. I had no swelling, no back pain and reached pre preggo weight 1 week post partum. It's the after that's harder b/c your time is no longer yours. you'll do grear b/c you want to
