What's ON your fridge?

OK, we're always talking about what's IN our fridge, but I think what's ON it says just as much about our personalities as what's in it. (I'm guessing at least 80% of you have some kind of children's artwork ;-) ).

So, here's what's on mine:

--a political cartoon from Time
--a doggie cartoon sent by my dad from the Philadelphia Inquirer
--an 8X10 picture of Thomas Jefferson
--my dad's "baseball card" when he went to the Phillie's dream week in FL
--a picture of myself with my two 2nd cousins, who are more like my nieces than cousins

Special magnets:

--a teddy bear dressed like a soldier, a gift from the Yorktown Foundation where I used to work
--a bunch of ceramic piglets, a gift from my mom (I collect pig statues, dont' ask why)
--a sparkling ceramic dragon, a gift from my ex hubby (dragons have no significance to me at all :p )

Well, so much is on my frig, that you can barely see my frig. Let's see: pictures of my kids, my friends kids, pictures of my parents and my in laws, pictures of my aunt's family, pictures of some of my friends, millions of magnets from places I've been or advertising something, postcards from my globe trotting friends, a schedule for the local baseball team, past schedules for the local baseball team, a (fat) picture of myself in St John, a picture of my DS with Mike Mussina, a picture of me and my kids in Florida with the Pittsburgh Pirate parrot, a picture of me in front of Willie Stargell's plaque at the baseball hall of fame, and (my own favorite) a picture of me shaking hands with Willie Stargell. I think that about covers it, literally.

I have a container that sticks to the fridge with magnets that holds pens and pencils and a swim schedule, calculator, etc. Many magnets, and some of them are even holding things up!

A sheet showing kid's school lunch suggestions, info on applying my pets' flea and heartworm meds, a picture of Sophie, my waste colletion schedule, a snowman magnet and about four different little magnetic outfits you can dress him in.... I think that's it.

I have a couple of magnets of cat butts and a hairball (gifts from my sister- I'm a dog person). Some fish magnets we got at Haunauma bay in Hawaii, of fish we saw snorkeling. A bunny in a bathtub magnet, and ummm, that's about it on the front. A couple plain magnets on the side hold up some to go menus, and then I have a couple magnets there that have vet info on them.

With 4 DS and 3 still young at home, my fridge is pretty much plastered with anything from Dr. appt cards, kids art work, photos, love notes from DSs, soccer magnets, etc. oh yeah, and plenty of dirty little boy fingerprints...some DH fingerprints too.

- magnets that we've collected on our travels
- pictures of our pets
- pictures of our friend's children and nephews
- art work done by various children
- DH's target from his most recent trip to the shooting range

All kind of Magnets to hold my childrens drawings. My little one has the leap frog fridge phonics on my dishwasher. List of what books they recommend for over the summer, Kindergarten report Cards, and sight words they need to know for reading. Magnet for hubby and one to dad from kids.

I can remember as a little girl my grandma had her entire fridge filled with tons of magnets from all over the world. Can you believe that's one of 3 all I can remember we do not wish to be part of their lives. Another story.

* An old grocery list never used, occasionally updated, never discarded

Obviously I need to upgrade!

Hi,

First, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy these types of posts. Its so interesting to learn fun details about you guys.

My fridge has:
- several funny newspaper cartoon strips from the Notre Dame Observer, mostly being funny about football, etc (for my husband)
- lots of artsy magnets from the Chicago Art Institute
- a dry erase board covered in useless info and old phone numbers
- several magnets and magnetic plush YouDee, the mascot for my undergrad alma mater, U Delaware
- A funny Maxine magnet (she's the crabby old lady cartoon character)
- several notes pads
- Mickey and Minnie mouse magnets, gifts from a friend's latest Disney trip
- geeky science magnetic poetry (I'm a bio grad student)
- our city's recycling pickup schedule

Okay, it's like this. I abhor clutter and "stuff" and DH lives for it. So we have a deal, we keep the front of the fridge EMPTY, and he can put all of his crap...um, I mean stuff... on the side panel. (I try to never look there.) :p
