What's after PH/MIS?

I am currently doing a rotation with PH and MIS. How long should I do this rotation? I alternate one of the above with cardio. I need to lose about 50 pounds. I want to lose fat and see definition. Is this rotation O.K.? After this rotation what Cathe tapes do I do next in order to get the best results?

I did a PH/MIS rotation (three days a week, alternating the workouts) for about 4 weeks before going on to PS for 3 weeks, then Slow and Heavy for two weeks before my current CTX rotation. I feel that the weight rotation of PH, MIS, PS, SH gives a workout of increasing intensity. Then I take the weight training intensity down a bit with CTX, which ups my cardio. I wouldn't necessarily recommend CTX if you are 50 pounds overweight, as the cardio is pretty high impact (I modify about half of it) and it can be stressful to the joints.

So, my suggestion would be to move on to PS, then to SH (for a short period of time) if the slow and heavy concept interests you.

I agree with Kathryn to go to PS next. I really like the pace on these -- it's slower than MIS and allows you to lift heavier, but you can still use them for a relatively long rotation (unlike S&H). Also, you can get good results doing each tape once per week, so every workout is different from the last. PS is still my favorite and the one I come back to again and again. (At least for upper body -- can't claim to enjoy any lower body weight work!) Then you could either go to S&H if that style of training interests you, or back to PH/MIS if not.

As to how long to stay with the rotation, basically as long as you're getting results and staying interested. I have to force myself to do endurance work and prefer split routines to total body workouts, so 3 weeks is about as long as I will do PH or MIS, but I can stick with PS for 4-6 weeks. But you may be different!

Good luck!
