I have to say for me it is always decreased immunity. I always feel a cold coming on when I am overtraining. I back off a bit and I am good.

Elevated resting heartrate is one of the most reliable signs. I know of some professional athletes who take their resting heartrate first thing every morning and that answer dictates how hard they will work out that day.

On Monday I did the X's Chest and Back/ARX in the afternoon plus a fast 4 mile run in the evening. I knew I had over-done it that day because when I got home from the gym that night everything started to ache and I was simply exhausted instead of feeling energized. I took 2 ibuprofen and laid on the couch for the rest of the evening.
