What month would be best for you for the Southern GTG?

Southern GTG

Southern Belles:

Now that September has been added to the mix, that is definitely the best month for me. Airfare and gas will likely be cheaper in September. Not to mention, Nashville is very hot and humid in the summer. ;-)

I'm not going to cast a vote because I'm not sure I can come at all. I'll let you gals figure out a time and if I can make it I will. I have stuff going on every month from now through October. If I can't make a GTG this year, I'll try for next year.

It's hard to vote because it would all depend on when in any given month for me. I'll hold off and see how the voting goes and then see how I can best work my schedule around it. That's not helpful, I know.

I'm thinking about just popping in at your place for a little vacation. I'll be happy to supervise you in your chin up attempts. I'll just stand by eating donuts while you work.

Really, I have family visiting through the summer, a meeting to go to with my DH in July, and a trip to Italy in October. September is a big month for me because we have 4 birthdays (including DH's) and my in-laws wedding anniversary.

Just plan it. You never know, I might show up. What I love is that none of you know what I look like, but I know what most of you look like. Oh, I see endless possibilities for a sneak attack!}( :p

Michele all that "stuff" is no excuse. I refuse to type all the $#@%& going on with me this summer (and none fun)...no excuse...just no excuse.:p

BTW, Michele, a visit from you is a-ok anytime...however, you could be the one SURPRISED...

I do know I have a wedding anniversary Sept 19, and my DH and one DS bdays are Sept 5 and 8. I have to check if these are weekend dates. There's the surgery in August and the wedding and my bday in June. There's a planned trip for July....what the heck, what could be more important than a Cathe Southern GTG}( ;-) :7 :+

Ok, ladies, I'm trying to pick a month and vote...

Did we decide for sure WHERE?

I'm pretty sure we've decided on Nashville for the time being.

No problem Shannon... if September is chosen, I have to work the weekend of 16/17 of Sept but I can get someone to switch with me if needed. I would just need to know the dates for sure by the first of August so I can get my request off for time off because I'll probably take the Friday off before or Monday off after depending on how we set up the weekend.

In September I could maybe make the weekend of the 23rd or 30th, but I know that all other weekends are out in September due to family bdays, anniversary celebration, and probably DS cast removal and intense physical therapy beginning.

The weekend of September 23rd would be best for me. Anything but the weekend of the 30th will work, but I am just listing what will work with Melody’s schedule. Jane is not working that weekend. Shannon, what do you think? It is hard for me to travel around the first of any month due to work obligations, so the September 30th - October 1st weekend is out for me.

Let me check out my work schedule when I get back in on Monday. I've got a couple of big projects throughout the summer that will be winding up in Sept. I just need to verify deadlines. Then maybe we can hammer down a weekend.

Next we need our resident Nashville native to provide info on where to stay, and what to do!

Hey ladies -

Based on what everyone's said so far, it looks like the weekend of Sept. 23-24 is the best. That weekend would be absolutely fabulous for me, since I already have a four-day weekend scheduled then! What do you all think?

That weekend in September is fine for me. I will make it that way :)
Nashville has a lot to offer, it just depends what y'all are interested in. From country music to Opryland's ginormous outlet mall to the area where I live that has small shops and loads of antiques in the downtown area and a mall and restaurants about 15 minutes away.

I hope this comes together! Wahoo!!!
 
Kara, did you say antiques----ohhhhhh boy! I love antiques. Let's hava a GTG in an antique mall!! I still don't know if I can come. My brother and his oldest son share a birthday on 9/24, which is also my MIL's & FIL's 55th wedding anniversary. Also, we're leaving shortly after that for Italy. Like I said, I'll try. My prospects for a GTG are much better next year.
