What kind of music is your favorite to listen to...when not working out

I like this poll! I also love to listen to music. My all time Favorite Rock band is Boston. But I like some oldies like the Beach Boys, Beatles and Chicago. I also like Disco...:)...great to exercise to. And some of the newer alternative and Pop rock bands...3 Doors Down,Matchbox 20. I even like Evanescense. Not a huge Country or Rap fan. And as for Clay Aikens latest song...I turn my radio up real loud for this one...Carole
 
I still love rock and classic rock. I listen mostly to Christian rock now...but when I hear those old classic rock songs it gives me warm fuzzies.
 
I listen to Prince at work, at home, and in the car. I also listen to Christian hit radio. There are a few stations here in Mpls that play good music, trouble is, they don't rotate enough so it's the same songs over and over. That is why I typically listen to my Prince cds.
 
I don't listen to music at all, unless I'm working out, and then I don't care what it is, as long as it has a beat. So, I didn't vote in the poll.
 
I love all kinds of music. It's not on the poll but I LOVE Christian hit music. I can't stop listening! My favorite station is K-LOVE and it's a nationwide station. My favorite group is Jars of Clay and I love Chris Rice and Matthew West too! :)

My other favorite mainstream artists are Norah Jones and Dido!

Huh, an intersting question. I listen to just about everything, with the exception of country. No offence to those who love it, just my preference. Anyway, as far as favorites, it depends on the type of musci I'm feeling like listening to. LIke if I'm mellow and just want to chill, Tori Amos, if I want to Rock, Korn or more mellow choice, Aerosmith. If I want to get funky, Prince. There are a lot of great artists out there it's not always easy to choose.
But Those are some of my most reached for artists.

I listen to a wide variety of music from classical, jazz, instrumental, alternative, rock, pop, rap... However, Dave Matthews is my very favorite and I listen to him most of the time.

Sorry, can't vote here because alternative music ain't on the list.:)

However, I don't mind the oldies (ca. 70's/80's, how "old" something is is relative), classic rock, jazz, THE blues, classical music, and a bit of pop.:)

Seemingly an easy question but hard to answer simply (for me:)). Being the Canadian Girl that I am I have to say I love everything from Nickleback to Neil Young to Shania Twain. I am a rocker at heart (Aerosmith, The Who) but love that my kids keep me current. We like to crank up a little Linkin Park, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and fabulous Miss Alicia Keys. I don't care what genre the music is, my criteria comes from the old "American Bandstand" 'Rate-a-Record' segments. "Dick, I like this music 'cause it's gotta good beat and I can dance to it.":D

I love all kinds of music, and what I listen to just depends on what I'm doing, where I am, and what's available at the time (car radio, home, etc.) I have my favorites and stand-by's that I put on when I need background noise - Stevie Nicks, older Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Carly Simon, and things like that. I grew up in the late 60's and 70's, and that's still my favorite era of music. I also love classical and opera, but have to be in the mood to listen to it. Great poll!!

Thank you Kathy! I just love that movie!! My daughter and I rented it when it came out on video, and now we have the DVD. It's one of my favorite "escape and feel good" movies!!

Hey! Gotta say hi to Ninjamom.....ooh I finally found another Catheite who loves Dave! My husband laughs at me...got a five space disc changer in the truck and it is full of Dave, all the time! But I also love lots of alternative stuff...but got to have Dave in the truck! Take care, Donna.
 
cool..I think it's neat to see what people like. Personally I like everything. Of course my fav. band is THE VILLIANS..and closly related in that genre is the misfits,gotham road and dr. chud's X-Ward. I love do doubt,maroon five is cool for a new band. Keith Urban and Dwight Yoakam-fav. country guys. Evanesence is cool,as for the older rock W.A.S.P is awesome along with Alice Cooper. Pilley and Ilas dress from New York rock and Lucy Wooward is great...so many awesome unsigned or unknown bands....neat to discover them though!!! For those of you that like rock you should really check out the Villians if you haven't yet. They just played a cd release party friday and packed the place!!!
