What is the "D" before H??

Burning questions!! Why do you all write "DH" for husband or "DW" for wife or "DD" for daughter (at least that is what I assume it means, or am I way off base?? LOL).... but what does the D stand for???

I always thought it was Dear

It stands for Dear Husband, Dear Wife, Dear Son, Dear Daughter. Or if you're mad at any of them, it can stand for Dumb too.
