what is a charter member?

I always see charter member next to certain posts. Was wondering what that is?

I believe those folks have been forum members since Cathe had her old website up....many years.

People who were forum members before the server switch or some kind of switch. Let's just say they've been members for a long time

It means we've been here since the beginning of time immemorial.

And what Wendy said. We were already members when the website was redesigned. Anyone who joined after the website was redesigned gets a date.

I know it was after 1999 or 2000 because that's when I discovered Cathe. And I remember the old website design, this is better. I wish they would do an upgrade so that when you hover your mouse over a post's title, it would display a few lines of the body of the note. That's a new feature I've seen on other sites and it really helps me decide if I want to open the post and read it.
