What I did this weekend....

It's beautiful already! I can't wait to see the landscaping. Surely that's got to be easier than lugging all that rock? How long did it take to dig that hole?

This is cool! Where does the water for the waterfall come from? Is it continually pumped from somewhere? How deep is the pond?

How awesome, some workout you got in lugging all of those rocks. :) How deep is the pond? Are you going to add fishies to it?

It looks beautiful!

DH wants a pond real bad, maybe someday.

Jenn;-)

WOW!!! Shelley, that looks so cool! I am sure lugging those rocks around is not fun, but Cathe has gotten you in great shape...:)...I bet it will be quite a lovely pond...:)

It was surprisingly easy. We will be putting fish in it. It's about 13x8 and just over 30 inches deep at the deepest part.

There's a skimmer (much like a pool skimmer) at the end you can't see in in the picture and there's a pump in it. It's connected to the waterfall with pipe and it continuously pumps the water up to the falls and then it comes down the stream and makes a current through the pond back to the skimmer.

My SO did the first layer of the hole (about a foot deep all over) by himself over the course of about a week, and we dug the rest on Saturday morning.

Thanks everyone. We're really pleased with the way it turned out. Hopefully the dogs will manage to avoid it when they chase each other like mad around the yard :p

Awesome job Shelley, a peaceful oasis for you and your family. I'm all about making home a sacred space. It's fantastic!!:) Have fun landscaping, that's the fun stuff, making it purty like :7

Take Care
Laurie

Oh my goodness... that's beautiful Shelley! I would love to have something like that in my backyard. Have fun landscaping!

Shelley, I bow once again to your incredible and beautiful aesthetic sense and your amazing ability to create that aesthetic almost anyplace. Wow! :)
