Please forgive my technological ignorance, I come from a family who still beleives that 2 tin cans and a string make for the ideal phone...;) OK, maybe not that bad!!..but

Most of my workout DVD's are Billy Blanks, who is known for his lack of utilizing technology and chaptering, so there's only one way to play his DVD's, just hit play.

I got KPC in the mail late yesterday, will do on Saturday, and noticed premixes and a workout blender..I'm guessing it doesn't mean that if you don't care for the DVD, you just grind it up in the blender, huh??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Jerry, premixes are usually shorter workouts with footage from the original workout, or they are chaptered differently making them feel like a different workout. A good example would be Drill Max. By itself it's a circuit workout (cardio and weights). But there are premix options that use only the cardio portions or divide upper and lower body weight work with cardio (cardio + upper body or cardio + lower body). In Body Max 2, there is a premix that is just upper body weight work. Some DVDs have more than 1 workout on them - like Step Blast and Kick Punch and Crunch (I think?). Anyway, some of those premixes have footage from both workouts, making them even more versatile. So you really get a lot for your money when premixes are included.

Maybe someone else could explain the workout blender as I've never used it.

the workout blender was only on the body blast series where you could pick and choose workout segments and pretty much make up your own workout using the segments on that dvd. i think it caused some dvd quality problems on some players.

the premixes are segments from the workout on that dvd and either edited to make shorter/longer or different sequencing to make a bit of a different workout. its a very useful too. for example, doing drill max for my first time on a cardio day, the cardio only option helped me still enjoy the workout without having to reach for the remote and skip to the next cardio segment. cathe had already done that for us :)

I used the workout blender for the first time yesterday with PP. What a nice feature! It made a lovely upper body workout. I wanted to work shoulders first so my arms weren't too tired to do thos inverted push ups. I was able to do all ten for the first time b/c it was the first exercise right after the WU. I did WU, Shoulders, Bi's & Tri's, Back & Chest, Supermans & Abs then I did the upper body portions of SS. Enjoy the premixes and the workout blender!Angela:7

I love the workout blender. I wish it was available on all our Cathe's. It made picking and choosing soo easy!

I have quite a few Cathe DVDs and have finally gotten to the point where I've just about mastered them, so now I want to do some of the premixes.

I'm especially entrigued by all of the premixes on 'Step/Jump/Pump and Step Blast' and 'KPC/Legs and Glutes' because I love the idea of mixing up two workouts. What are your guys' favorite premixes from these workouts?

Also, on the premixes for KPC/Legs and Glutes are there any that don't include the high step? I just happen to prefer working my legs without it, and I'm not sure how to tell which premixes use the high step and which ones don't.

Thanks for your help!

I wish I could get that feature to work. I tried it for the first time with SJP a couple of days ago. I got all the way through the setup. It only let me set up 6 segments - of course, I wanted more. Then, when I hit start when prompted, my player dumped out of that dvd and advanced to the next dvd I had in my player (yes, another Cathe dvd). I have a Sony 5 disc and never have problems with it except for a few freezing issues on some of Cathe's other dvds. The premixes are usually enough, especially in that series and I do use the mix&match feature occasionally, so it's not that critical. But it would be nice!
