Have never really figured out what "push-pull" means. What is it? And what is it's sigifigance in weight training? Also, does it only pertain to upper body, or is lower body included?

RE: What does

"With the push pull method alternating exercises are chosen which work the opposing muscle group, i.e., biceps and triceps. Perhaps the biggest advantage of this method of training is that it is very time efficient since little rest is needed between sets since the next set is always the opposing resting muscle group."

This is SNM's response to this recent question. HTH

RE: What does

In a push-pull workout, you are doing exercises that require you to do exercises with movements that are either pushing or pulling.

Push= chest press, pushup, overhead shoulder press, squat, lunge, etc..

Pull= rows, pullups, lat pull downs, bicep curls, hamstring curls, etc.

You can google and find all kinds of push/pull workouts. Examples are like what Jen says, doing opposeing muscle groups, supersets or all 'push' one day and all 'pull' the next.
