What do you think?

Bunbun-

I'm every bit as sceptical as you are, but, to be fair, this guy did not say that you could lose fat without proper diet and exercise. In fact, he drew a triangle and stated that all 3 aspects are of EQUAL importance. And he led an awesome pilates class and served as a personal trainer on the weight machines.

Having said that, it would take a LOT more convincing for me to spend $160 on those bath treatments. (And, although the face products I purchased are probably pretty good, I probably could have spent a lot less on similar products of comparable quality. I'm still feeling a bit guilty about that purchase.)

I hope you're having a good weekend! :)

I highly believe in the theory of detox - my bloodwork for my liver kept coming back abnormal and the doctor (an excellent gastro) had no idea why. Test after test after test. Then I went to a naturopath who has me detox once a month - my numbers are practically normal. But I do this with the foods I eat. Isn't the skin the body's largest organ? Maybe there is something to that - it makes sense, though I personally have had no experience.

Boil boil toil and trouble is what I'm thinking right now.

Cool to find out the body composition though. Maybe I should go on a cruise just to get that done!! :)

I'm totally with Clare and Bunbun on this one. Anything that claims that you can change your metabolism, weight, health status with a couple of baths is selling you a load of ##it!! Placabo makes TONS of people "feel better" all the time but does that mean that it's the power of the sugar pill or the power of the mind?

Amyg amd Pixie9,

I'm jumping on your bandwagon. I think this sounds ridiculous. But that's JMHO. There may be something to "cleaning yourself out" a couple of times a year but as soon as you "detox" your body is breathing in toxins from the air as well digesting toxins that we just can't remove from the food we eat.

The human body is a wonderful piece of machinery and if kept well hydrated, fed and exercised, can fend for itself. Again, MHO.

You know, it's so easy to dismiss things and be skeptical. It actually takes more effort to keep an open mind, which, the older I get, the more I'm trying to make an effort to do. And there have been several times in my life when I've discovered something and thought "why didn't I know about this sooner?".

So, although I'm not running out to buy anything yet, my mind is open and I'm very interested in what people have to say on this topic.

Nancy,

It's great to keep an open mind but if you keep it too open, it sounds like it may cost you money LOL! :)

BTW, we've been on several cruises and the drinks were always extra, except for iced tea, tea or coffee. And...I stay away from the Spa area. They love to sell you anything they possibly can.

You are right Candi! I have been spending too much lately. I guess I learned the hard way about the spa area of cruises. :-(

Oh well. I'll know better next time.
