I was just wondering what you all think of the music in 4DS. I love the workouts, but I miss the fun factor that I get with the intensity and bodyblast series which I think is due to the music.
What do you think??

So far I think it's just okay. I'm sure some of it will grow on me and some of it, not so much. The novelty of the bubbly techno contained in a few of the workouts might grate on me after doing the workouts more and more but now it just makes me think of 'Finding Nemo' at the disco. I did chest and back today and like the song that kicks off the weight work. I really like the music from the last series. CTX kinda gets on my nerves and the music in RS goes right up the back of my neck.

I like the music during the cardio portions, but do any of you think that it is much too fast-paced during the weight sections?

I know that Cathe tells us to work at a different pace than the music since we're doing heavy weights, but I'm especially having problems on the HIS chest/back sections since I can't look at the screen to see what rep she's on. I keep finding myself doing the chest/back exercises too quickly since I end up following the music -- which is not good!

Overall, though, I LOVE the new series!

I LOVE the warm up song in Lower Intensity Step. I wish that song was longer and used more through out the series. Peggy

I like this new series, but I wish the music were louder and had a stronger beat. I don't find that this music pumps me up, but I like the warm-up song on LIS. There's one song that seems to be a Latin beat that I like a lot. But, overall, no matter how much I crank it up, the music never seems loud enough.

I prefer Intensity, Body Blast, Hardcore, and the last series.

I do love the intro to Lower Intensity Step.

The music is growing on me. I'll just have to get used to it.

Maggie:)

I love the music in Drillmax! And all the recent series-not the newest workouts, the ones before that..BodyMax, Drillmax, LIC.I am a house/techno fan, that is the music that really gets me moving and grooving!

The newest series music isn't as great though, so I tune it out and have fun anyway!:7

generally speaking, music was always the one weak point I could find with Cathe. I much prefer a nice bumpin' beat. From what I have listened to, this series seems to be an improvement.

I think its okay. Most of the time I don't even pay attention to it. The only song that stands out for me in this series is the "scream" song, I think in HIS cardio.

Ditto! I was thinking the same thing last night, especially while I was doing the pullovers!

I don't mind the music in HIS, BC, or Kickbox in the series. I love the warmup song in LIS, but then we get to combo 3 and it all goes down hill for me. The music slows down so much I don't find it goes with the steps Cathe is performing. Then I have trouble staying on track and find myself messing up.

But I don't the music portion during the weight work. I find some spots where Cathe is going faster I have to slow myself down and places where she is going slower I feel I want to speed myself up.

I don't love it or hate it -- it's just OK, but then I never really pay that much attention to the music. Until someone choreographs a workout to the dulcet tones of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, I doubt I'll ever have a love fest with the music :p

I like it. I liked the last series as well and the Hardcore was great too.
I HATED the BB series music.
Once I got to know the moves I would turn the music off and put on my own.
One of the reasons I quit the gym and put one in my house was because of the music. I can't work out to Pink Floyd, ACDC or Jerry Lewis lol.. so good energizing music is a big plus for me!

And which will be your favorite cardio song Michele? Ain't That a Kick in the Head?

Or "when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie...that's IMAX 2"
:7 :D :D

I definitely did not like the last series....and I think that's why I have not done it as much. I guess you can't please all the peeps all the time ;)

Bwahahahahaha!!!!

Ain't That a Kick in the Head would've been a great choice for the 4DS Kickbox workout!! :p :7

Mambo Italiano screams RS to me. :7

I prefer the music from the Intensity series and CTX, but I like 4DS music better than the Body Blast music or the music from the last series.

When I first heard it, I wasn't too fond of the 4DS music--like the last series, it's a bit to electronic, and sometimes 'tinny' sounding, for my tastes. But there are some tunes that have grown on me. I actually like the "scream if you wanna hear more...on the dance floor" song, and the pretty asian-sounding tune that comes after it(?) in HIS.

What I absolutely do NOT like is the repetition of music within a workout: the Kickbox/legs workout does this (as well as repeating a tune from the last series), and the second or third time around, I'm really tired of the songs.

I like Amy Bento's and Kelly Coffey-Meyer's music better.
