What color shoes with a yellow dress?

Hi Gals,

A friend of mine called the other day and she wants me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding next June.
I asked what the dresses were like and she said thats up to you:eek: The only thing is, they have to be the color butter or a pale yellow, knee length, strapless or spagetti straps and we have the option of picking out material and making our own.I found one I like on the internet at AlfredAngelo.com that is exactly what she discribes but I am wondering what color of shoes? White...off white? She said that was up to us to.
She doesn't seem to worry to much about it but if the dresses are shorter...which they are...then I think I would like everyone to have the same kind of shoes on.And there is no doubt that we are not going to have the same shade of yellow.Ive seen weddings where the dresses were the same color but not the same style. So I am wondering what 2 or 3 different shades of yellow are going to look like?
Lori:)

I would say off white.. or, get some dyeable shoes, and have them colored to match the dress.. Seems that she's pretty relaxed about her bridesmaids matching. I think 2 or 3 different shades of yellow would look nice together.

I would do a really nice strappy sandal with rhinestone or some other kind of detailing, maybe in a very pale gold or off white.

I've seen weddings done like that and as long as everyone uses a dressier fabric, it can look really nice.

Thats sounds like a nice color of shoe! I just have to find it...but I have a long time yet. And the cool thing is, is graduation for highschool will be around that time so I should be able to find some shoes that are "pretty" and "girlie" b/c thats what teenagers buy.
She also said, that the dresses at to be a matte sort of dress. No shiny material.I don't have a clue who the other girls are that are standing, but its nice that we can pick out our own style b/c a certain style doesn't flatter everyone.
I am going to wait until after christmas to order the dress I like, just in case she changes her mind or something.Plus, I can't really afford to buy a dress this time of year, with Santa comming.

I wish I could post a pic...I might try.Im not that great with the computer

I like Marie's idea. I saw a cute pair of strappy sandals that were studded with little pearls and they were pretty. You could definitely wear them again. Zappos is a great website for shoes. I can spend hours browsing there.

Just because any form of "white" shoe makes me crazy, I would say go with something strappy and gold. The idea of rhinestones, or some sort of beading to make them shiney and sparkly would be good too.

Just don't wear white shoes. They'll stick out like a sore thumb with that yellow dress.... JMHO! :D

JeanneMarie, I totally agree with you! I do not like white shoes in any form.... I am not sure why, I just hate how they look. :)

Marie

I gotta agree with Jeanne Marie. Forget white. Metallic sandals sound good.

Lori, can you post a link to the dress? That would make it easier. I just love fashion questions.

NO WHITE SHOES (they should be illegal). I would suggest a subtle shoe - strappy and nude in tone. In a wedding, you want the focus to be on you, not your feet.

How about a nice puce or chartreuse?}(

I so know nothing about this stuff. I'm the worst shopper in the world and my SO buys all my clothes. Maybe I could ask him for you:p

PLEAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEE don't do off white!! I have a yellow dress and you have so many better options!

There are some great nude colored heals that you could order from Victoria Secrets....

I have paired a pale purple sandal with my yellow dress and got TONS of compliments!!!! Matching pale purple & yellow earrings too :)

I say be more original! Off white says confirmation to me.....

That is totally my opinion - I don't want to offend anyone - but you should really look around and try some different things with it!

My daughter got married this summer and Yellow was her color.
We girls all wore different shades of yellow in different styles, white skirts with yellow tops (some had those black lacy tanks underneath) Yellow skirts with white tops, all yellow dresses, etc. We all had on different color "sandals", from yellow to brown/gold with rhinestones to black or white. The guys wore different yellows also, from yellow shirts to white shirts and yellow ties, all with khaki slacks. It sounds all crazy and chaotic, but we got more compliments on this wedding than anyone in the family has seen in years. All the people in the wedding and the guests felt so comfortable with this casual wedding. It turned out perfect and was sooooo cute!

O.k I posted a pic in my picture trail.Like I said, i am not that great with the computer, I tried the link but it wasn't working right.
Lori:)

I like the dress. It's a flattering style. I couldn't make out the shoes very well, but from what I could see I think they looked nice as well.

Another member of the no white club, here. I hate white shoes and think they stand out - and not in a good way.
I agree with ladies above me who suggested gold and strappy or a nude shoe.

The dress is fabulous Lori!! Now that I've seen it, Im sure that a gold metallic sandal would be perfect.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.It is a pretty dress, isn't it?
You can't really tell what color shoes she has on her feet but its one of those sites where the dress was orginally in a different color, but you can click on any color and the dress changes color to.Looks like the shoes could go with anything.
