what color is your bedroom and bedspread?

We have only lived in our home for seven months, so I haven't had a chance to repaint the walls (they are a boring beige), but we have a chartreuse and terre verte duvet that has various shades of browns mixed in.

I would love to put in hickory floors, but am stuck with beige carpeting for now. I also want to make a fabric headboard for our bed. The designers have done it on Trading Spaces and I think that I could handle it. :)

I was in Linen-n-Things last week and saw that Nate Berkus (from Oprah) has a new line of bedding, etc. and some of the colors were beautiful. I bought one of his tablecloths and am very impressed with it.

Our bedroom is painted a beige tan color. Everything in our house almost is done in a southwestern style. We bought our comforter and shams etc.from a place here called Santa Fe furniture company. It is done in sand, rusts, peach and sienna and small amounts of burnt sienna with tiny amounts of tourquiose. I would like to move on to some sage colors in areas of the house and colors that blend with maybe desery cacti.

We have a sage green comforter and cream colored sheets. Our bedroom set is a rich colored wood tone & accent lamps have hints of the sage green in them. Also sage green, kind of sheer type curtains on the windows. It really is quite soothing :)

Kara - I want to make an upholstered headboard too! One of the decor magazines I get had instructions for doing one last month, and I'm sure it would be fairly simple. And I agree that the Nate Berkus stuff looks awesome.

I am so in love with the color combination of brown and pink, that I changed my bedding to that. My Duvet cover and shams are a chocolate brown faux suede (danged hard to keep clean for a bed I sleep in every night) and my sheets and a rose pink. The walls are a pale ivory. All of my accent pieces are brown, pink or silver.

It took me forever to find a chocolate brown. I ordered several from different companies and had to do lots of returns because the dye lots were different. I was about to give up, but found one at Domestications.com and they ordered by dye lot for me.

You could even browse hgtv.com or diynetwork.com for ideas. You could also find fabric you like and have someone make them for you. (tends to be a little more costly though.)

Debbie, Sage and cream sounds like a great combination. I would like to incorporate this in my workout room but have not been brave enough to get rid of the yellow stripe wallpaper that was here when we moved in. I painted the woodwork a different white called Popped Corn (Ralph Lauren) and did a very pale executive yellow on the lower walls getting rid of the marigold that was in there. Someday I will get rid of the wallpaper but I just worked with it:) It was a childs room before. The bright yellow aggravated me so it had to go.
Someday sigh!!
