What color hose w/a black suit?

A bear!!!

HOLY CRAP!!!

Not sure what to tell you about the moving thing. I know that would be tough for you. Go with your instincts, though. They are always right!

Deb, I was about 30 miles northwest of you, & it's a ski resort town (this leads me to believe life might not be as rural as it appears). The Playboy Club used to be there. Does that give you any hints? ;)

Carrie, I got the feeling I'd have a second interview. And yes Debbie, you know how I feel about my house. Esp. my basement. :)

Maybe I won't get the second interview, or I won't get the job, & I won't have to make this decision. I think it's the toughest choice I'll ever have to make--it's got my stomach in knots.

P.S. it was very cool seeing the bear--I think it was a teenager b/c it wasn't huge, but it def. wasn't a cub. But like Donna said--cool from my car. What happens if one ambles into my backyard when my pugs are out there? Max would be a nibble for one of those things!

Ummm, I hate to break this to you Laura but bears can rip car doors open w/ their claws. Check out this link: The bear was apparently after bird seed left in a car. BIRD SEED for pete's sake!!

That said, I don't think that's a reason to not take this job--which I totally believe you will get. :) Did you ever read "Under the Tuscan Sun"? One of my all time favorite life quotes comes from that book: "Where you are is who you are."

Cool and hitherto undiscovered facets of Laura could emerge in a new venue!

:eek::eek::eek: Gee, I feel so much better! LOL!

I saw the movie. But I get what you're saying. It's just very scary for me. I've been here for 7 years & as much as I hate it, I know it, know what I mean? The unknown is always scary, & what if I relocate from a house & town I love into another $hitty job?

I completely understand, believe me! Is there a way for you to take a weekend vacation in that area to see what it feels like to live there?

I live in a small town now, but I'm close enough to services & shopping. Yes, I drive 25 min. to Home Depot or Lowes, but I have 2 hardware stores 8 min. from my door.

I could NOT handle living in the middle of nowhere. My in-laws live 30 min. from the closest Starbucks--sheer torture for me!!
