What's in your car's CD player as we speak? And what's your favorite singers/groups of all-time? (The book thing went over so well, thought this might be good. I'm always interested in new music!)
I'll go first: In my car's CD player, Laurie Berkner (children's singer). But I just got the new Colbie Cailat (sp?) and love it.
Favorite singers of all time:
Ella Fitzgerald (Love "Them There Eyes")
Lady Day (Love "Pennies from Heaven")
Simon and Garfunkel (Love "Feelin' Groovy" and "Homeward Bound")
The Beatles (Love "Eleanor Rigby" and "Blackbird")
James Taylor (also like his son, Ben)

PS Has anyone gotten the new Feist CD?

I don't have a CD player in my car. I do have a cassette player, but mostly I hook my iPod up and listen to that. However, I did put a cassette in there yesterday and it was Aenima by Tool.

In my CD player at home:

Year Zero - Nine Inch Nails
Gatecrasher
DJ SOS Live on New Year's Eve 2002
Rage Against the Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles
Tool - 10,000 Days

Fave artists:

Oh, yeah, and Tool ;)

Actually, I like a wide variety of stuff, from Frank and Ella to classical to industrial, trance, techno, alternative rock... There isn't much I don't like. Except Nickelback, of course ;)

In my car CD player right now is Erykah Badu's Mama's Gun.

I pretty much like and listen to everything so I can't really pick any favorites.:)

I have Sirius Radio and I love it! Recently, I have been getting into all the radio talk stations, they are pretty good!
Even Howard Stern has some interesting guest on once in awhile.:) Oh, and I love Martha Stewart's talk radio, her daughter who is a total smart-a** has a show that is great.

I've been listening to The White Stripes new album, Icky Thump a lot.
I pulled out Lyle Lovett's Pontiac a couple a days ago, and have listened to it a few times. Also, some Lucinda Williams, the Long Winters, and some old Mekons. And, last night while I was working around the house I was blasting Maria Callas arias!

There's no way I could say anymore who my favorites are. I just don't know. I listen to so many different genres/bands/artists depending on my mood.

Getting ready for the new Bruce Springsteen release by playing his Live 1975-85 at present. When it's not Bruce, it is usually The Eagles, Chicago, or Hall and Oates.

TeTe - how is Icky Thump? I'm a bit scared to buy it because Jack is notoriously hit and miss, but I LOVE Icky Thump (the single).

In my cd player right now I have the following:

Hinder
Buck Cherry
The Fray
James Taylor
Guns N Roses

I love pretty much everything not sure if I could pick a favorite. I have favorites from certain times in my life my not any overall favorite.

John Legend (fave: PDA)
James Blunt (fave: Wisemen)
Rihanna (fave: Breakin' Dishes)
The Beatles (faves: Lady Madonna, Let it Be)
and a buncha techno!!!!

For some reason, since I moved to New York, I've been listening to Johnny Cash nonstop (I'm originally from Texas--seems funny that I moved north and then started listening to country).

So, been listening to a couple of Johnny Cash CDs. I've also been listening to greatest hits albums of Bob Dylan and David Bowie--very diverse retro trend for me.

The only thing relatively new I've been listening to much is Sufjan Stevens--incredibly beautiful music and fantastic lyrics. My favorite Sufjan CD so far is Illinois (also called Come on feel the Illinoise).
