Ok, I have seen these workouts mentioned in 4 or 5 different posts now, but no one is talking about what the heck they are, who the heck they are, and more importantly, are they fun? are they keepers? Cathe-ish? more recovery-ish?

Hmmmm?

I think they are fun.
Definitely keepers.
Not at all Catheish (much more functional fitness and working stabilizing muscle, which help with more tradional training.
They can be used for recovery, prehab, as part of a rotation with more traditiional strength, or exclusively.

I agree. I'm new to functional fitness a la Tracie Long (used this style of work in physical therapy), but I think this type of training would be a real asset for anyone and it will definitely have a big place in my regimen.

As I've gotten older I really see a need to work on things like balance and those little support muscles that are missed in more traditional training. I don't see functional fitness replacing traditional training for me, but I can see where FF W/O's can help me improve my form and endurance in traditional style W/O's.

Hi Marie!

I just got mine yesterday, so plan to do one for the first time today. They definitely look fun, not at all Cathe-ish and deftinitely keepers!! I have all of her previous workouts produced under Tracie Long Productions and those are terrific workouts. No reason to believe these will be any different.

Have a great day!!

I am really thinking about getting these. Michele, I was particularly interested in your reviews since you brought a lot of objectivity to the table. Not knocking anyone who is a Firm fan, it's just I keep thinking, if I was reviewing Cathe I would probably be less objective than someone who is new to her, you know what I mean?

I'm thinking of getting all of them but the Strength workout, but I'm wondering how anyone is using them in a rotation. I am doing a CTX rotation at the moment - which is 30 min or so of cardio plus one body part a day. I might work this into a longer rotation, though, so I can add one day of pure strength training, a'la ME, to hit every body part twice per week. So my rotation might end up being rest on the 8th day vs. the 7th. I am also doing Stretch Max 2-3 times per week. Could these be subbed for Stretch Max?

Opinions welcome...

Marie
