What about Body/Eating for Life?

Has anyone tried the diet/exercise plan for this?

I'm curious to the diet regimen before I start. If anyone has any ideas or advice that would be great.

Does anyone think maybe this is just a fad/phase? Thanks again.

I think Body for Life is a very good program. It's one of the best out there, IMO. Very easy to follow and makes alot of sense. It's not a fad/phase. It's a simple to understand version of what weight lifters have done for years. I did this about a year ago and then started reading about other programs and after it all, BFL is the easiest to follow.

Food is simple:
6 mini meals a day
a protein portion with every meal
a good carb with every meal
Vegies at least twice a day
One free day
Palm/fist portion measuring-no calorie tracking

Here are some websites that might help you decide if it's for you.

I forgot to add that I rarely used any of the Myoplex drinks doing Body for Life. He remmends using Myoplex meal replacement drinks for some of the meals, but only if you are busy or have a hard time squeezing in meals. You DO NOT have to use it. It's easy to just eat good clean food for ALL meals.

This is a good plan - my father had really good success with it. And the Myoplex shakes are completely optional (they are protein shakes - more for the serious bodybuilders - and an EAS product - Bill Phillips, the author, used to own the company - he has since sold it). Of all the programs out there, this is one of the few that is based in reality and fact without all the hype. Go for it!

Agree with all of the above. Both the workout routine and the nutrition plan are sound - nothing crazy, nothing fad-ish, completely do-able for life. I regularly use the Myoplex protein powder for my morning shakes, but only because I LOVE the taste and the convenience of a shake for b'fast.

I have both books and love them. I find them motivational when I'm feeling like I'm in a slump. The Eating for Life book is primarily a cookbook, and it's *excellent*.

I tried BFL about 5 yrs ago. Lost 8lbs in the first week, I just couldn't keep up with all the eating! I actually had to carry a small alarm clock around in my pocket to remind me to eat every 2-3 hrs. It doesn't fit into my daily schedule and if it doesn't fit, I can't stick with it!!!

I have been faithful to Weight Watchers for about 19 mos now and it's worked for me.
