I have core max DVd, wish I love but bored now. I see Cathe has 3 others Ab hits, butts & Guts, and ab circuit. I will admit since doing the insanity rotation I have not done much of any floor ab workouts. Let me know wish one is your favorite.

I'm going to recommend Horizontal Conditioning!! It's fabulous for overall core strength. There are also some killer leg moves in there as well.

Another recommendation for HC! I started about 2 months ago and love it. I pulled out Core Max last week just for some variety and after doing HC it wasn't hard at all!!

I'm guesing thats not a Cathe workout DVD? Where do I get HC? I would love to be able to slim my waistline! Thanks!

Of the Cathe workouts you asked about, my preference is Ab Circuits and it is one of the Daily Deals today. I'll have to check out HC as I've never heard of that one either.

Look at horizontalconditioning.com There are probably others here who could give you more direction on what to get. Since I've been doing Cathe for years I skipped the intro DVDs and just got 2 of the 4 volumes - volumes 2 and 3. If you do a search there are clips on Youtube.

I've been able to hold out despite all the positive talk of HC here, but I'm not sure I can hold it much longer...once again, enabled by Cathletes!

I agree about H/C - core strength gains occur almost overnight. The DVD's are long (45 minutes - including warm up). You can break them into segments but there is no chaptering. They are worth getting. I have yet to finish bootcamp. I collapse each time - literally, around the 43 minute mark.

For shorter, effective ab workouts - I agree about Ab circuits. There is great variety on that dvd. Butts & Guts - there's a great, long ab workout on that.

Look into Exhale Core Fusion workouts. Arms + Abs is good. There are two ab segments - yikeserama. Their Pilates Plus is equally challenging. I have other ones too. They are short but boy - do they pack a punch. Instant skinny.

Anni's Fierce Force - her core section is tough too - it's a mix of cardio and ab work.

S90 - Core Ball - that's a good one too. It's about 30 minutes .

P90X - Abs Ripper is also tough tough tough.

The Squeeze's have surprisingly good core work too.

These are my top go to workouts for core strength. I hope that helps a bit.

Well, it's been forever since I posted here - no time for the internet lately! But I've been trying to catch up a little, and I saw this post. The wife of a friend of mine is a local instructor who just produced her first workout DVD. It's all about abs and it is TOUGH. Sort of arranged like Core Max with three 20-minute workouts, which also include a little bit of floor glut work. The first is a solid intermediate, the second is advanced, and the third can only be described as KILLER. They're all really creative, so if you'd like, check out her website:

Disclaimer: I'm not receiving anything for this, except maybe the hope that somebody might enjoy Kris' workouts.

ETA: Strange, the link just says "Home." The website is Hotflash Workouts, FYI. Please excuse my lack of web-based skills!
