We're In This Together *~August~*

Rebekah
I love how you spell your name BTW :).
It's so funny, I have the opposite kid! Great in public and a horror in private . The only problem I have her inability to stay put while in restaurants, so I don't frequent them often...as in NEVER!
I used to get in my workouts too while Bella was napping. It was my savior! Then she stopped napping at 2 1/2 and I was like "oh nooo! Just kill me now!!!". I wish you many (many, many) more years of blissful naps :).
I love Intensity and Crossfire. CCC, is another story . I did it so many times, that now it just has a certain dread factor I suppose. I think it's the repetition of the exercises within the circuits.
You lucky duck having the entire w/e alone with hubby! (Heinz is such a original cute name BTW). Savor the moment, even in silence. I truly believe it does the relationship good. I'm like Colleen, Mark and I have a hard time letting Bella out of our sight. I'll do it for a few hours, even an entire day, but I'm not ready for sleep-overs just yet.

Colleen
Plyo Legs always gives me a rockin' LB workout. Which disc do you like the best? I find W3 the most challenging.
LOL, the wine! I have to bust my bottle out after my mother leaves the place :rolleyes:. I hope it all goes well, nice and smooth this weekend. Just think "serenity now, serenity now".
Have fun canoeing too! I did it once before and loved it! My next venture will be white water rafting .

Jen
LOVE, LOVE seafood. Have a wonderful time w/your friend :).
Great news about the fashionista following your blog! That's super cool .
I'm sorry to hear about your friend on FB. It's hard letting anyone go in your life, no matter who they are and how they've affected you.

Happy Labor Day weekend ladies! We celebrate here too

Posting from the phone. Watching Jim Cantore on the Weather channel. Very healthy guy. : ).

Sarah- Sorry to hear about Alaska. Yes, it would've been great to hear good news today. I understand about the drink.

Colleen. We have seafood lots of places here. Some by default, Lake MI is an inland sea. Yes, it's expensive but my friend wants to use up her gift card.

Rebecca. My family is familiar with NC for medical reasons like Duke 5200 and Dr. Kertzburg. She was on 60 Minutes last weekend. My family and some friends want me to move there. But, I like snow.
Did you preorder XTrain?
I've been walking instead of Cathe.

Natty. So glad you get Labor Day too. I think the US could use Boxing (?) Day and anything that honors the Queen.
It's great Bella behaves in public. What are your plans this weekend?

Did well today. Removed all the emails from the guy from CA whom wanted me to work for him. Felt REAL good. Change occurred prior to my interview when I had to stand up to him on some stuff. Thanks for letting me vent.
Walked 40 minutes today on a route that used to take an hour. My legs/calves will be strong enough to handle Cathe.
My topic for my blog is about being truthful on Linked In, resumes, etc..
My former mentor lied on his profile stating he has social media skills plus he's using my exact same wordage in a mutually closed group. Imitation is flattery but his lying can catch up to him since many companies use Linked In to interview with. Plus, a few others.
It never ends.

Sarah
I did not see your post when I wrote mine last. I guess we were writing at the same time. I'm SO sorry to hear about Alaska :(. You should in no way feel guilty for being disappointed. You have a right to feel however your heart desires. But I often say, if it was meant to be, it would have been. Life has a way of playing those tricks sometimes.
I understand your feeling about being a SAHM too, as I get those feelings often :(. {{{hugs}}}
Walking 2-3 miles is good :).

It's TTOTM for me, and I feel blah, tired, and hungry for chocolate :p. I did my w/o yesterday which was S&G cardio + LBB (no leg conditioning drills). My legs were fried. I feel a nice bout of DOMS today :D.

Today's w/o is Jillian's Yoga Meltdown. Bella is still sick so no special plans for the w/e.

Bye bye for now

Lost another 2 pds. I think I'm finally losing stress weight from my former employer. Many have after leaving there. Learned to have peace and confidence.

Good Morning Lovely Ladies!!!!

Sorry I was MIA yesterday, this weekend has been much busier than I expected!

Jen- Congrats on two pounds down!! That is fantastic! I hope you enjoyed Bonefish Grille! That is one of my favorite restaurants. So happy to eat about your blog gaining more followers, congrats on that as well!

Colleen- Best of luck with dinner with you mother-in-law, hope it goes as well as it can! A little wine is definitely helpful ;) I can't wait to hear about your canoeing trip, that sounds like so much fun! I have never done anything like that. I know exactly what you mean about alone time without the kids. It's so nice to have a night out with Heins but once we get home, I have so much trouble sleeping. I always worry, I know she's in good hands, she ADORES my MIL so I try to just think about that, but needless to say I can't wait to get we back today or tomorrow, hopefully today though!

Natasha- WTG on an awesome workout and some DOMS! I haven't felt those in a while! And noooooo....... Don't tell me the naps end! Haha I don't know what I would do if I couldn't workout while she naps, it keeps me sane! Haha I hear you about CCC all that cardio beats me up! I just hate how hard it feels but doesn't burn as many calories as you think it does!

As for me, I totally blew it this weekend :( ugh! I forgot to tell you all that one of my friends that moved to Georgia came back in for a visit this weekend. We went out to eat for dinner Friday, lunch Saturday, and I went out to dinner with Heins last night as well. I also have a dinner tonight for another friends birthday today! Ugh! I already feel "blah" it's amazing how quickly it catches up with you. I didn't get a workout in Friday or yesterday (insert ashamed face here) but I am going to go run today while I can when Addie isn't here. My goal is 5 miles, hopefully when I report back I will have accomplished it :) definitely going to be eating clean next week to make up for all this eating out! Make sure you all hold me to that ;)

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Sarah- Hello!! I just proofread my post and realized I missed you! My most sincere apologies! I am so sorry about Alaska! Sending you ((((hugs))))) as well. Like Natasha said, don't feel bad about feeling disappointed, as a SAHM mom those feelings are not uncommon. I will send warm wishes your way in hopes that something much better for you and your family is in store! Congrats on walking, I am sure that is refreshing to clear your mind and give you some time to think, I love to go for walks. WTG and keep up the good work!

Happy Sunday gals!

Yesterday's w/o was 6 Week/6 pack L1 (Jillian) + Yoga Meltdown L2 (Jillian). Total time 60min. It's TTOTM for me, and so my endurance is usually in the crapper during this time :(. Not sure if it's also because I'm not really doing Jillian often (or abs for that matter ) but it was really, really HARD! I swore a few times and called her a nut case . I love how she pushes me though, definitely very humbling when I think I'm a little too cocky .

Bella is feeling better and so today we are going to a place near downtown Toronto called Yonge & Eglinton. One of my favorite districts to walk, shop, eat, and just enjoy the day. It's unlike some other area's in Toronto where everyone is acting like a rushing lunatic . It's also a hot spot for celebrities during TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). Did I tell you guys that I've seen Mr.Big (Chris Noth) from Sex & The City?

Jen
WTG on the 2lbs!!!! Finding inner peace is so hard when the world is chaotic. I commend you for striving to achieve that.

Rebekah
Don't feel bad about getting sidetracked this weekend. Summer w/e's are usually a recipe for disaster for me as well . I follow the 80/20 rule: 80% good, and 20% bad ;). Hey, Bob Harper says it's ok, so it must be right :D
It's so cool that you are a runner! I really admire people such as yourself, because I can imagine how difficult running is, mentally and physically. I always wanted to try, but I have fears about getting injured. I just don't think I'm cut out for it.
5 miles is wonderful! I'm sure you'll do great :).

Colleen & Sarah
Hope you are both having a good w/e!

Bye bye for now

Hi Natasha! So glad Bella is feeling better :) I hope you guys have a great time out and about! Awesome that you've seen Chris Noth! He is handsome, I bet that was an exciting experience! Great job on your Jillian workouts! I have never done anything by her. I hear ya on the TTOTM and not feeling as strong, I never workout as well as I normally do, fatigue sets on so much sooner, ugh!
I did end up attempting my run haha I say attempt because it was 90 degrees by 10:30 when I made it to the park. I ran 2 miles, walked 3. It was just too hot for me too keep running, I was a sweat ball after the first mile, ick! When I got home I did TurboBarre, (in wonderful AC) haha, love the ab segment in that one!

Good evening girls!

Yesterday's canoe trip was a blast. The only kicker being we had my sister's(Danielle) boyfriend there, which you guys know I'm not crazy about. Between the MIL and him there was a lot of tolerating going on this weekend! Thank goodness for adult beverages:eek:. lol It was lots of fun, though and the kids had a great time. The river we went on was pretty shallow due to the lack of rain this summer so there were several moments where I was super glad I work out and have some degree of upper body strength! I was rowing like a mad woman in a few spots just to avoid getting hung up! Here's a few pics:

Me and my sista's. :D Left to right: Danielle, Areka, me and the "baby" Arianna. Notice how the baby towers over the rest of us?

024.jpg

The kids. My niece Anna (blondie;)) and Lydia, behind them is Dylan and off to the side sort of walking away is my nephew Josh.

005.jpg

Jim (Areka's hubby) and Mark

031.jpg

Today's workout was To the Max. LOVE that one!! It's a close tie between that one and Crossfire but I may have to make the official declaration that TTM is my favorite! :)

Jen- Good job on the weight loss! Stress will definitely make it tough to shed pounds, no doubt! Dang cortisol! I'm sure the walking is as emotionally therapeutic as it is great cardio! :)

Natty- sorry you've got the ttotm thing going on. It's so unfair we have to deal with that energy drain every single month! I'd say guys don't know how good they have it but Mark is always saying how glad he is he doesn't have to deal with that, not to mention childbirth! Oh man, Chris Noth! I love him! I used to be totally into SATC when it was on! I totally love celebrity sightings. Once we saw Dean Cain (played superman on tv) at the Chicago O'Hare airport. He was SUCH a cutie!!:p He seemed really sweet, too. Of course, I was to shy to actually go up to him and ask for an autograph, but other people did and he was totally nice about it. Just a regular guy going through the airport!

Rebekah- Great job on the running! Like Natty, I am so not a runner:eek:. I tried a few times, and my knees and ankles totally rebelled on me. I remember the first time I tried it, in high school I went out for track one year. I was literally the slowest person on the team. I lost every. single. race:(. The coach kept trying to put me in different races, and I still came in last every time regardless if it was sprints or long distance. Oh well! Can't be great at everything! lol

Sarah- I'm so sorry the Alaska thing didn't happen. Like the other girls said, do not feel guilty and your feelings and opinions absolutely matter! I know how tough it is when your not bringing in the income to feel any relative power in the relationship but your family is incredibly dependant on you and I'm sure your DH is well aware of that! They always say that SAHM's would average several hundred thousand dollars a year if they were actually paid for everything they do in the family!

Okay, gotta run. Have a great night everyone!

Good Holiday Monday.

Colleen-Thanks for nailing the reason for my weight loss. It is therapy and shedding stuff for a very long time. Love the pics of your family. MIL and DS boyfriend, I can relate. Family can be stressful.

Sarah-Hope you have a great weekend! Maybe, your DH can put in another transfer to some place like MI. Lots of Catheites here, more in the metro Detroit area. Northern MI is pretty during the summer months, lots of snow in the northern LP and all over the UP.

Rebekah-Congrats on your run! Not me, not that hot. Its getting colder here at night already.

Natty-Just found out my friend does Jilian Michael Shred. I gave her the Cathe website. She is post cancer and post MBA. Sounds like a fun part of town. I remember pockets of areas that were more small townish in the big city.

Saturday instead of Bonefish Grill, we went to Outback which I haven't been to in years. My calorie counter blew up. The first was not opened for lunch. Didn't walk that day but did yesterday. I was in the mood for Italian from a local original place near my home. They keep moving take out. Was going to head to Detroit today but need to job hunt and groceries. Seville jumped on my stomach early this morning, he knew I was mad. Both of them kept me up most of the night. The lady I interviewed last week with, wrote back after I sent a Thank You note. I think not many follow up after that stuff. Then, she told me if I had questions to email her, I thought of 6-7 relating to the job. No matter what, I will keep the blog. I worked hard to get TED and others.

Good Morning!!!

Colleen- loved the pics of your family!! Your children are beautiful!!! Love Lydia's pigtails, just too cute! So glad to hear you all had a great time! Way to go on TTM! Love that one too, with the exception of compound legs :p I like doing the fitness Tabata instead. As for running, I used to HATE it! Now I love it, having some time to myself outdoors is therapeutic, with the exception of the heat of course! :) My hips always hurt the next day though, I suppose it's a good thing I can only get out to do it once a month while Addie is away.

Jen- Outback sounds great! Way to go on your walk! I'm sorry you were kept up most of the night, what kind of animals do you have? Wishing you continued success with your blog!

As for me, my MIL brought Addie back yesterday afternoon! I am happy to be back to my normal routine today :) I went out with friends to a Thai restaurant last night, we had an hour and 15 minute wait! The food was great though, we didn't finish until 10:30 and I didn't get home until almost midnight, yikes! I am not used to staying out so late, definitely needed an extra cup of coffee this morning :) I think I'm going to just ride my stationary bike today.

Hope you all have a great day and look forward to hearing from every one!

Between having friends and famuly this weekend and still feeling really sad about not going to AK, I have eaten everything in sight :( Eating like a glutton didn't make me feel any better either :(

Colleen - Love the pics, you look awesome . Glad you guys had a good time

Nat - I hope you had a really good day trip and so glad to hear Bella is feeling better. Hope you had lots of good food too.

Jen - Congrats on even more weight loss. I realize now when I lost all my weight last year was when I was so excited about my business. I realize now more than ever. I am a dreamer, I fly easily on the wings of anticipation and excitement, only to fall down hard in the end. Thus what I am going through right now with AK.

Rebekah - I love to run too. I don't do it very often anymore. I hated it for the longest time but it kind of grows on you after you build up your endurance. I love Thai food! But then again I love any kind of food.

Sarah

Happy Labor Day

Yesterday's outing went well for Bella and Mark. Me, not so much :(. I felt very dizzy and weak, walking around in such hot weather during TTOTM. I also felt extremely bloated, crappy and just plain ugly :(. I don't usually feel like that, but hey, sometimes hormones dictate feelings.

Can you believe my legs and butt are still sore from Friday's LBB + S&G?! I also did a 100 Rep Challenge that day with hamstring roll-outs on the stability ball . I think my hammies are weak and so I will try to focus more on them, along with my rear delts and triceps.

Today's w/o was a mixture of UB workouts I created in the blender. Here it is:

Intensity Bootcamp (15min)
Turbo Barre (UB only)
STS TB (UB only)
100 Rep Challenge w/rear delts only
Total time: 60min or so :D

MY UPPER BODY IS FRIED!!! I love that feeling :D. I would totally recommend doing this mix&match workout, as it proves to be very thorough and hits all the UB muscle groups well. The bootcamp gives it a nice little cardio boost too.

Sarah
I'm sorry about your Alaska disappointment :(. When I'm let down by shitty things in life, I usually try to focus on what I do have in my life and what I appreciate instead. It's hard to do that, I know, but it works...sometimes.

Rebekah
Yummy Thai food!! Asian food is my absolute fav :p:p. Do you like Indian cuisine?

Colleen
You look amazing!!!!! I say you look pretty darn hot in a bathing suit ;).
I loved your family pics too. The kids look super cute :D.
TTM gets a slight fav edge from me too :D.

Jen
Cats are very perceptive with their owners. They "feel" everything you do.

Have a great day ladies

Evening girls!

Thank you so much for the compliments guys! I get very very self conscious in a bathing suit...not to mention a picture of it! Despite working my lower body like crazy it's still not my favorite body part...darn short legs! I've had saddlebags my whole entire life and Cathe's workouts have finally allowed me to at least minimize those suckers!
Today's workout was High Reps. I am really enjoying getting a total body weight workout back in the mix once a week. Feels good! I do modify and substitute some of the exercises in that one, though. I sub dumbells for the barbell in many sections and instead of push ups I did some rear delt work. I get lots and lots of chest work when I do HC, so I've been skipping push ups when I do Cathe's weight workouts now.

Tomorrow the kids go back to school! I can't decide if I'm happy or bummed about that.... No choice, either way though!
I'm so excited about one thing. Today Mark and I went out and bought a king sized bed for the first time. The one I have right now is a queen size and it's 12 years old. I can NOT wait! Mr. Mark likes to toss and turn...I'm so excited to have room to sprawl out and hopefully not feel his moving around so much!

Natty- I'm so sorry you're feeling icky today. :( Do you think you were dehydrated with the dizziness? That mix and match workout you made sounds killer!! And the lower body workout with the 100 rep challenge hamstring roll ins??? Holy Crapola! That makes my back side burn just thinking about it!! I can't wait for you to see the Breaking Bad finale (until the second half next summer). You'll have to tell me what you think! I'll shut up about it until then!;)

Sarah- I hope you feel better soon! I know your feeling down about Alaska and we are hear for you to vent too! That's what this check in stuff is all about...support and encouragement ;).

Rebekah- that's so funny about TTM and the fitness tabata instead of compound legs thing you mentioned...I was looking at the premix options on it yesterday and was thinking I'll have to try that one next time I do it. I love the whole disc, so it's hard to pick one of the shorter premixes:eek:. I love that she offers shorter premixes though...that's gonna come in really handy once school starts! I love Thai food, too. Anything spicy, really. Unfortunately, LaCrosse has lots of restaurants but very little variety. It's all chains, supper clubs, pizza joints and Mexican or China buffet. No seafood (except Red Lobster...blech), no Greek, no Indian, no Thai or Vietnamese...that's one thing I miss about living in a bigger city. :(

Jen- have fun in Detroit today! Whether it's kids or pets, it stinks when your loved ones disrupt your sleep! I'm a zombie without my 9 hours! lol

Okay...I wrote a book. Sorry! Night girls!

Hello Friends.

Colleen-Enjoy your new king size bed. Yes, I've had problems too in my lower body. Cathe has done wonders.

Rebekah-Love Thai food. 90 minute wait for some places is normal here. Staying up late, yes, I have problems too.

Sarah-I understand about emotional eating, I do it too much.

Natty-You're not the only one, I've had many days of feeling that way. Dizzy? Are you getting enough calories and water?

My animals are cats. Seville is the Alpha cat, older than Madrid, and is Bombay Burmese. Animal Planet Cats 101 call that breed, Velcro, cause they are attached to one's hip. Madrid is an Maine Coone, blackish grey. He is my wild child not only in looks. He talks more than Seville. When he was a kitten, he was on feeding tubes for medicine, food and water cause he was so ill. Smaller than the normal Maine.
Nervous about hearing on the job. There is a Social Media position open at a major company and HR left the requirements loose.
Rain here today, not from Isaac.
Support group meeting then work on blog, also apply for that job.
