We're In This Together *~August~*

Hello Friends,
In two hours, I leave for metro Detroit for the conference. Its about SEO search engine optimization plus I joined a social media group which has 45k plus members.
I have decided to work on my craft and network. The groups are encouraging safe behavior instead of embracing the new economy. Nothing definite with the potential employer. Funding is the issue.
Natty, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. LBB is great too!
Hope to walk almost daily until fall.

Have a great day!!

Jennifer

Today I did a kettlebell workout, Lauren Brooks volume 1 (40 minutes). It still pains me when I think about how expensive that one disc was ($35!) but it honestly is a great dvd for kettlebell instruction and I use the workout a lot. She has a whole section where she goes through and demonstrates/gives tips and pointers for each exercise so you can get the form down. It really is a very good kettlebell dvd if you are learning from home and haven't got access (or the desire to go to) a kettlebell instructor. Sound like rationalizing? Maybe a little! lol

Jen- have fun and good luck in Detroit today! Sounds like the social media thing has you all fired up. :) Walking is definitely therapeutic...and free when you go outside! No dvds or gym memberships required! ;)

Natty- I'm so glad your back is feeling better. There is nothing worse than being side lined with pain/injuries :( It's funny, I've had Low Max for awhile and have yet to try it . I have actually avoided step aerobics since the troubles I had a few months ago. I definitely want to get back to doing it at least some of the time in the future, though. I still need to buy some good shoes before I do. Hopefully I'll deflower that virgin (Low Max ;)) before too long!
That is so hilarious about the Bryan Cranston dream! LMAO You know, I don't quite see Bryan that way but I do get the old, bald man attraction. I was totally the same way with John Locke on LOST. Did you ever see that show? I was totally into and attracted to Locke! My sister thought I was nuts! lol

Later girls!

Hi Friends,
Made it home at 11:45 pm EST from the seminar in about 2 hours so I made great time. Learned lots and amazed what I knew and I didn't know. Drove thru some beautiful areas of the metro area on the way there.
Will post personals sometime on Friday.

Good morning ladies :)

Yesterday's w/o was PUB. Before I did the workout, I knocked out some push-ups, 21 consecutive on my toes :D. Taking my back into consideration, I had to sub some of the moves which I found to be straining on it. Double arm rows were a no-go, so I did 1 arm rows instead. Same w/double arm kickbacks. For some reason, I have never liked pull-overs. Besides from not really feeling it in my back like I should, I'm always afraid the weight is going to come crashing down on my face . I subbed with pull/chin-ups on my tower in a supine position and bent knee. It was a great workout all in all :). My back is feeling much better today.

Today Mark is off so we're going to Fairy Lake (the park in Newmarket we frequently visit). Tonight might be Jillian's Yoga Meltdown.

Is Anyone here familiar with Cardio Coach? I was looking at his Pump workout and it looks pretty cool. I like that all his stuff is downloads. I'm just wondering if I can do his other cardio w/o's without any indoor cardio equipment. Maybe he will inspire me to start running outdoors, who knows.

Sarah
How are you? I hope all is well.

Colleen
OMG you have Low Max and still did not break that bad boy in! Shame on you  :D. I don't understand how people can have workouts in their possession and not even try them. As soon as I get mine, I'm on it like white on rice :D. I understand, you need to be careful about your knee.
I saw the first 2 season's of Lost and that's it. Yup, Locke is pretty hot :p.

Jen
I wish I could walk with you :(.
I'm glad you had a safe and successful day trip. How was the seminar?

Have a good one guys!

Hello Friends.

Colleen-Low Max is a great workout. Love it! My go-to workout. Kettlebells sound more interesting to me than HC. My knees bother me with too much step or high impact.

Sarah-Hello!!!! Sure you're quite busy with kids and work.

Natty-Having weights come crashing on your face, I felt that with STS. Or, injuring one of my cats whom were always nearby. Don't do PUB unless its part of my rotation. Glad your back is feeling better.

Ok. The meeting last night was great. Free dinner and meeting cause I was new. Pizza, soda and cookies. Yes, I went over on my count. Then, marketing minutes from the membership community. Finally, teaching from the owners. Before I attended, I got some info to download on the importance of social media then a free disc as well. Considering the logisitics to attend. It might be the most comprehensive study program out there. Many intelligent people there. Older sexy black guy whom is in computer sales...rather fit.
Miss the energy of Detroit. GR is trying to get it, you can only fake it for so long.. Yes, I want to move back plus lots of social media/high tech is happening there.
Today, I'm walking to get lunch at a local spot on the edge of my area. Hoping to hear more about the funding today but keeping my eyes/ears open for a job. Praying it works b/c of the sacrifice the CEO's wife has made.

Morning ladies

Well, my mom is in the hospital. My dad had to threaten to call the ambulance since she always refuses to go in. Since they live waaaay out in the boonies it's a pretty big deal for an ambulance to come out there. It turned out she has bleeding ulcers again. She had this happen last October, too where she was rushed in an ambulance as she had lost a lot of blood and was all out of it and confused This time there were 2 huge ones that had ruptured and she had lost a third of her blood. Yep, you read that right...a third. She would have died if she hadn't gotten in. The doctor did surgery last night and clipped them off to stop the bleeding. He said she should be okay but she is going to be in the hospital until at least Sunday. The problem is, which my sister and I were talking to my dad last night about, is that she is severly depressed and if that isn't addressed I believe this stuff is just going to keep happening. She knew from last year she wasn't supposed to take ibuprofen or Alleve (abusing and over using those was what caused the ulcers to begin with). Sure enough, she started using ibuprofen again. She knew she wasn't supposed to. Her life long battle with depression (what I believe to be undiagnosed bipolar, actually) has been getting worse and worse. Sorry to ramble on here. I'm just really frustrated. :(

So, no workout yesterday. I really want to workout before I go down to the hospital today but I almost feel guilty for working out while she's in the hospital. Like it's too indulgent or something? Is that weird?

I hope everyone is having a better weekend than me! Do something fun for me! :)

Colleen-Hope your Mom is improving. Yes, I used to feel guilty working out while my niece was in the hospital although my parents encouraged it. Its good she made it to the hospital. Keep us posted.

Colleen
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom :(. I hope she recovers well. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time {{{hugs}}}
And no, I don't think it's weird you felt guilty for working out while she was at the hospital. I get those "guilt's" too about exercise. Like I shouldn't be taking time out for myself...but that's wrong. Please don't feel bad.
Jen
Your meeting sounded super fun :D. Hmmm, a hot, black, older male eh?
I like them too :D:eek:. Denzel Washington, LL Cool J, Will Smith, oh heck ya ;).
I love how "out & about" you are. You seem like a super fun person to hang out with
Sarah
Are you on vacation? Hope all is well.

Yesterday was my rest day but we went to Fairy Lake (the nice park I frequent in Newmarket). Lots of walking and outdoor activities.

Today I did a little mix&match cardio :D. Crossfire Premix (fitness blast+plyo tabata) + Intensity high/low hiit section. Total time 40min.

I'm going to our town's annual Carrot Festival today. It's pretty much a street festival with food, fun, games. It's called "Carrot" because my city Bradford, is the Carrot Capital of Canada or North America, or something like that.

Have a good w/e everyone

Hello Friends.
Happy Sunday. Plan to walk sometime today.

Natty-Yes, we would have a blast!! Will be in Detroit at least two times next month.

Colleen-Hope your Mom is doing better.

About the "job," I had an honest conversation with the person from CA. It all started when he needed the "approval" of the group I met with in Detroit. I told him they were happy to hear the news but it doesn't make a difference unless it happens. Talk is cheap. For the first time, I was able to get some words in of what he didn't want to hear. So, if I'm still available in January, I may consider working for him. But, I will be networking and going to Detroit to learn more about social media and SEO, etc.

My "friend." He stated my pc had been hacked but he was the "only" one that knew about it. From my phone, I could see he saw my message but created this big lie to avoid me saying anything to him plus possibly causing my pc to get a virus. I see him for who he is and he doesn't like it. Not going to "defriend" him yet but I will stay away.

Thanks,

JT

Hello everyone :)

The Carrot Fest was nice. SO MUCH FOOD [enter throw-up face here]. My mother came with us, and all she kept doing was buying food, and eating...and eating...and eating. Unfortunately she is getting very big. She now looks like a pregnant woman . If anyone should go on the Paleo Diet to learn how to control her consumption of unnecessary carbs, it's that woman. Anyway, of course I had to sample everything :p. I knew I would be burning it off today :p.
Instead of MM today, I needed a bit more cardio, so opted for BM2 blasts circuits w/leg work + upper body portion. Total time 60min. The cardio I did on an 8inch step, matching Cathe. I did squats and lunges with a 40lbs barbell (Cathe uses 20lbs). Upper body I did ok too. Back and chest I can match Cathe. Shoulder's, just barely. Bi's and tri's, ha ha not even close .

Jen
Sorry Jen, what is CA? Some terms I am not familiar with. You know, being Canadian and all ;).
Your friend seems a bit off :confused:. Ya, stay away from people like that.

Bye bye for now :)

CA is California
MI is Michigan
GR is Grand Rapids
ATL is Atlanta GA

Need ice cream.
No carrots.

Natty- Love your workout combos. I eat too if I know a workout is coming.
Bummer on your Mom. Looking pregnant at my age isn't good.

Hello ladies :)

Been a rough weekend . My mom is still in the hospital. She had to have surgery on her ulcers since they were so big. The doctor put clips on them to shut them down, but then last night she got all disoriented and was losing blood so they had to go back in as there was some leaking around the clips. She's back in ICU this morning but they said she is stable now and doing well. On top of that, Lydia has come down with some kind of stomach virus and was throwing up last night. The poor baby threw up in her sleep! Mark and I were totally freaked out that she could have choked since she was on her back when Mark walked into her room to check on her. She was still asleep and there was all this throw up on her bed. It was so nasty! :(
Sooo...needless to say I'm taking the day off work and keeping the kids home. At least there is time for the computer...;)

I went ahead and worked out this weekend. I just had to. Saturday I did Cathe's Lower body Trisets and then yesterday I did To the Max Extreme premix. My lord, did TTM feel good. I went all out super hardcore and was totally breathless. I pretty much channeled my frustration into the workout. Then I did a shorter HC workout which, combined with TTM, had this section that totally fried my glutes. I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to get out of bed this morning but I went ahead and took a little ibuprofen and used a heating pad on my tush to help get some blood flowing. Luckily, I have DOMS but not too debilitating!

Natty- a 40 lb barbell versus 20 for Cathe? Yowza! Good for you! That is awesome! The Carrot festival sounds like fun. :) That's too bad about your mom...as you know my mom is the same way with sweets and binges. Is your mom diabetic? My mom is, which of course, makes all this current medical stuff even worse. She just can't seem to bring herself to be healthy. I really don't think the doctors are going to address her depression even though my sister brought it to their attention.

Jen- yes talk is definitely cheap. I totally understand your not wanting to get excited about the new job until things are totally set in stone. Keep up the networking and hopefully you'll keep getting attention from your blog. Ice cream is one of the few foods that doesn't tempt me too much. Gotta keep myself in check when nachos or chips are around though!

Sarah- hope to hear from you soon!

Have a great day girls!

Lazy day in the house today. Well, for me "inside" the house means lazy, but I'm always doing' something. I was able to dust and vacuum, make chocolate chip-banana cookie muffins w/Bella, and now I have yummy pesto chicken breasts doing it's thang in the slow cooker :p. The house smells divine :D.

Have you guys seen Warrior with Tom Hardy??? EXCELLENT movie. Two thumbs-up!! Tom Hardy is HOT HOT HOT. Lovin' me those huge muscles baby ;).

Oh I made a premix in the w/o Blender and was so excited that I had to come share it with you guys!!! AND IT ACTUALLY WORKED IN 2HRS!!! OH HAPPY DAY!! It's a goodie cardio workout coming in at 40min:
Afterburn (my fav circuits) + Plyo Legs D26 (plyo only) + CSS. Alternating w/o's and circuits!!! The best of high & low impact baby!!! AND NO REPETITION!!! I'm excited to test it out. Perhaps tonight

Colleen
I'm sorry to hear about your mom :(. I hope she recovers well.
OH poor little Lydia. Bella has thrown up in her sleep too. It's very scary indeed. Kids are champs when it comes to recovering from illnesses, so I know she'll be ok soon :).
LOL, I screwed-up on Cathe's weight on the barbell . She uses 35lbs, and for dumbbell's she used 2X10lbs (20lbs). I honestly think that she was "underestimating" her weight selection in BM2, as I've seen her go WAY higher in her newer workouts. I'm no rock star :(.
OH MY you did the Extreme Premix??!! You go girl!! I don't know if I'm ready for that just yet .

Have a good one ladies!

Hi Friends.

Colleen-Hope Lydia is feeling better. Glad that your Mom is stable. Those workouts are so great! Did they help you relieve stress?

Natty-Chocolate chip banana cookie muffins? Yum. Pesto chicken, double yum. Love the FB pic of Tom Hardy. Wow!! 40 minute workouts great, time flies.

Today, I blogged and shopped. Tired of the calls from my not future potential employer. I think his wife is tired of it and he calls me for affirmation. Nothing will happen without funding. Moving onto to other things. My "friend" from FB. I told him a story about my former CEO how she and the previous CEO gave me a gift cause they found out someone with power liked me. The gift was to sway opinion. I felt it was tainted so I donated it. I think he knows it was him they were referring to. I believe GOD has a plan for me but not with the above mentioned. Life goes on.

Have a great night.

Good morning ladies :)

I was a good girl yesterday and did Supreme 90-Day Core (love it!) + Jillian's Yoga Meltdown (love, love it!). Total 60min. For those who hate Yoga or just can't get "into it", I would highly recommend Yoga Meltdown. It's totally not what you would expect, more athletic as opposed to spiritual. Anyway, both workouts flowed very well together, working my core with various plank poses. I haven't done Yoga in about 1yr, but I'm surprised at how much I've advanced as far as keeping/holding the plank poses and going deep into the lunges without having to quit early from a burning quad. The Chaturanga push-ups (aka Tricep push-ups) I was able to knock out, and hold at the bottom (that part is a killer!). I owe it all to STS :).
I have been neglecting my core a bit, and that's probably what's aggravating so many lower back problems. So Colleen, you've inspired me do add some horizontal work to my weekly rotation with Yoga and core. I'm not getting the HC workouts, but that's good enough for me :D.

I think Sarah might be on vacation. She mentioned going away in August some time back.

Jen
Yeah, the pic is pretty great hun? ;) ;). He is one hot man ;)
Good idea about donating the gift. I think you did the right thing.
You have a wonderful attitude about all of this. Hold strong :).

Colleen
I hope you are doing well along with Lydia and your mom.

Bye bye for now!

Hello Friends,

Natty-Congrats on those pushups!! I still believe you would do well being certified. My core suffered during STS. How are those muffin cookies?

Colleen-Hope your Mom is doing OK. And, Lydia.

Today, I'm not attending this support group cause the info seems rather lame. Then, I was stunned the leader was callling himself "Yoda". My "friend" and I are now rediscussing stuff from months ago. He beats a subject to a point its very hard to be his friend. My walking has helped, my side profile has showed me much slimmer. Applied for a position with GM, its combo finance (from my old job) and social media (now). The actual job is in executive offices at the RenCen downtown Detroit right on the river. Viewing from Canada, its the tower to the far right. Long shot but you never know.

Natty-Congrats on those pushups!! I still believe you would do well being certified. My core suffered during STS. How are those muffin cookies?

As for the muffin cookies, I can't bake from scratch well. What I did was buy a package of cookie dough mix. You are supposed to add your own butter/oil and water, but I didn't. Instead I added a mashed up banana to the mix. That will give the cookies moisture. I then placed the batter in a small muffin tin, so they came out like cookie muffins. VERY TASTY! And because the portions are small, it's a nice calorie controlled dessert. The problem is eating the whole tin!!

Checking us in for today. Enjoying the great weather and understanding that many from my old program are having the same issues I am.
Hope to walk later today.
