Went to GNC, lady confused me.

I went to GNC today to get more protein shake. She was asking me what vitamins I took. I told her that I take one a day, and she look at me like I was crazy. She told me that vitamins you get off the shelf are not giving me all the nutrients I need. She was trying to sell me those Mega vitamins. Is this true? Should I start taking these? I don't know if she was being truthful or just trying to sell her product. I wonder if she is working off commission? I wanted to get the opinions of you educated ladies.

Kim,

I just wanted to tell you that I got my protein powder at WalMart. I bought a chocolate container and a vanilla one and got both for what I would have paid for one at GNC. GNC is in the same strip mall here as WalMart, so I just walked to both places and compared prices. Just wanted to let you know.

I'm no expert, but I used to take the GNC Women's Ultra Mega and after a while noticed the ingredients were almost the same as the One a Day women's, so I switched to those. I think she was just trying to make a sale. I have had the counter clerks at GNC try to sell me items I don't need/didn't ask for before. One constantly followed me around and tried to get me to buy low carb snacks, which I don't eat, and never showed any interest in.

Hey Kim. I don't know if I have any info that will help you out or not, but let me tell you that I have been going through the whole vitamin thing for awhile. Is Walmarts the same as GNC???? Is there really a difference?!? It is all so confusing. Well, let me tell you that I have discovered that there is a HUGE difference. I posted a question about vitamins about a week and a half ago (it was called "Help...vitamins...have you heard of these?) Basically my doctor said that he personally recommends Shaklee vitamins because it has the science and research behind thier products and he has seen their publications on their vitamins that prove that they are in the right proportion and that they actually get in your blood stream. Well, I have been on Shaklee's Essential Foundation (which is a strip of vitamins I take daily and energizing soy protein) and all I can say is: "WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!!" I felt different after 2 days on these vitamins and using my soy protein. I am in love with the Energizing Soy Protein. It really gives me a lift in my day and it tastes a lot better than some of the others I have used.

I am going to bump up the thread that I posted a couple of weeks ago so you can read it (If I can figure out how to do it!). I don't know if robin4health is logged on the computer today or not, but she is very helpful. She will send you files to read about the difference in vitamins if you ask her. Read the "Help..vitamins" post and you will learn a lot from there.

Sorry, I did not mean for this to be a book!!!
