Well, I'm Cheap....

What else could account for my excitement over the J Jill jacket I found at a second hand store for $8!! It's gorgeous and I am :D

Anyone else shop almost exclusively second hand? I like nice clothes just as much as the next person (J Jill and Sundance in particular!) but think the prices are outrageous. Plus, the store fashions are all the same, and I have no interest in being trendy. So second hand bargains it is! Fess up ladies! Who else is cheap..er...frugal? :p

Fitness and good food are the only things I don't mind spending $$ on.

I haven't done a lot of second-hand shopping, but a lot of what I buy is on sale.

I think I'll have to stop into the local consignment shop and see what they have. That's a great idea! You can often get quality clothing at a good price. I've SOLD stuff through them, and know that it was good stuff that I just didn't like for some reason, but which I had only worn at most twice, and some of it never!

...me, too! And proud of it!

I've shopped the consignment stores a few times but I usually buy all my clothes off season. Like now that fall clothes are coming out, I buy all my summer clothes for next year. That way, I can take advantage of the 75%+ markdowns.

And if something's an incredible deal but not my size, I buy it and resell it on Ebay. Cha ching!

I am a clearance rack *queen*! I very rarely buy anything for myself unless it is a really good deal. This means you have to shop often and be willing to paw through racks and racks of junk to find that awesome deal. Last week I got a black cashmere, knee-length coat (designer label) for less than $100 - this after pawing through racks and racks of GARBAGE. Definitely worth it, though!

I don't shop second-hand. I would if I was in a more affluent area which offered a better selection, I think. I envy those of you in NYC, just for the garment district!! :)

Cheers,
Marie

Nope , I don't have time to root through racks.
I try to watch for sales, but if want it I buy it.
i FIGURE WORKING 60 + HOURS A WEEK i DESERVE IT!

I won't spend a lot of $ on one piece of clothing or one outfit either! I am a shop-a-holic and can spend A LOT shopping but I don't buy much in the way of expensive things...not worth the $ IMO.

I am not a second-hand store shopper but I shop in places like Kohl's primarily...If I could grab a deal like you got though I would definately go for it! :) My mom has some J. Jill items she got as a gift and it's nice stuff!

My clothes shopping is done exclusively in consignment shops, Goodwill, Kohl's, Marshall's, and Value City (which may be fairly local). I refuse to pay full price for anything, and I wear "good" brands. It's not being "cheap," it's being SMART!!!!!
Just Do It! :)

Sparrow, I love Sundance also. They are pricey. I don't pay full price for anything anymore. There is always a sale.

I buy almost all my clothes on ebay. I get tons of stuff with the original price tags still on. I just got an $88.00 Banana Republic skirt for $14.99 and a $125.00 pair of Kenneth Cole shoes for $23.00. I stick to the brands I know fit me so I'm rarely disappointed. And if something doesn't fit I just re-sell it on ebay.

Sparrow, with the current gas prices, it pays to be cheap.:) I'm lucky to live near a Casual Corner Outlet store. I recently got a lot of nice pieces for up to 80% off retail. But that's the thing... I have to hit the store at just the right time, a month before fall and spring is when they have the best deals.
