Well... I did it and I don't feel guilty!

My best friend dropped her dog off with me yesterday before going to her crazy mom's for Thanksgiving dinner. As a "thank you", she left me a big chunk of macaroni & cheese she had made. I ate it for lunch & dinner. Then when she returned to pick up the dog, she brought me pie. Guess what I had last night and for breakfast this morning?

I had debated the wisdom of eating all this simple carbohydrate and fat infested ware, but then thought.... eh.... what the hey? Except for the occasional dark Dove bar at work, I never do sweets. Mac & Cheese? Doesn't cross my threshold. Not even for my 10 year old daughter.

Damn, that was good pie.

Pecan and sweet potato. Last night was pumpkin.

I have to say, however, that while the pie was quite tasty.... I'm looking forward to the grilled chicken & goat cheese salad I'm making for lunch even more.

I love it...You shouldn't feel guilty! I have decided life is way too short to feel guilty about the food I am eating. I don't endulge that much so I feel I can eat something like that every once in a while!

Oh and there is no way that I would not have eaten that sweet potato and pecan pie...That sounds like a great combo! YUM!

I haven't worked out in three weeks due to my parents being here for the Thanksgiving holiday. Usually, I go kind of crazy when I don't work out for an extended period, but this time I just took some time off, watched what I ate, still ate some off-limits stuff, and just rested. Got on the the scale today for the first time in weeks...it did not move from where I was before. I was shocked, but then again, I never got a "heavy" feeling during this rest time. I will be getting back on it today...and I'm ready to go. I didn't feel guilty even once for not working out, or for eating that pastry!!!
