weird question about muscle development

Ok, been working out with Cathe seriously for almost a year.

Tonight, when I was changing for bed, I noticed for the first time a muscle bulge on both my sides. Now that would normally really excite me, but this bulge doesn't appear to be in the right place. These are not the beautiful lat muscles that Cathe has and I aspire to.
These are bulges right where my sports bra goes around my body. If I raise my right arm and run my left hand down my side, there is a definite bulge there and it doesn't seem like a place one would want that. I'm wondering if I'm doing my lat rows in a way that I'm isolating the wrong place, or if I should just celebrate muscle development anywhere it happens. Anyone else know what I"m talking about?

Like I said, weird question. Thanks for humoring me.

I have the same thing. Those are your lats. I just notice mine a few months ago and was kind of taken back by them but now I like them. Mine don't look as nice as Cathe's since I have quite a bit more body fat than she does but I'm working on that :) I don't think it's anything that you're doing wrong but if you don't like them then you could cut down on lat rows and pull overs.

Yes, I have noticed the same thing. I really like this new look for me since my upper body is so small...I need all the width up top I can get. LOL

So I think it is a good thing! JMHO

Yup, your lats are putting in an appearance as a result of all your hard work. I have a broad back by nature so it might as well be defined. Once in a while I look at my back in the mirror and it's appearance has definitely changed.

My lats? I have hoped and dreamed for lats for a long time, but I thought they would be higher, you know, to give you that "V" back look. These bulges seem too low to be pretty.

But if you say they're lats, then so be it! :)
