weights vs. cardoi?

With the new STS coming out, I keep hearing to wait at least one day in between lifting weights. Is that just for heavy training, or does that apply to DVD's like the Hard Core and Intensity series? For example, if I do Pyramid Upper body Monday, then Pyramid Lower on Wed. could I still do a workout like Boot Camp or a Terminator workout in between on Tues., or is that too much weights. I really like to do workouts that have both cardio and weights, and alternate between those and only weights...is it counterproductive to do this every day? Any advice from some of you who are more experienced than me would be appreciated!

A rest period is so vital to your muscles because during this time they not only are resting but they are building and repairing themselves. When you are doing weights everyday like you are describing above it can become counterproductive and you may not see the same results you would if you had a rest period.
What I would suggest is
Mon- Pyramid upper
Tue- cardio or lower body
then I would incorporate Bootcamp or another video that was weights and cardio but probably no more than one a week especially if you are working separate muscle groups on different days.
good luck

bummer! I really like to work out every day, but am not a big fan of cardio...I guess I better get some more DVD's! Thanks for your input.

sure no problem although I don't think it was what you wanted to hear :) . Here is another thing you could think about, if you didn't want to spend even an hour doing cardio you could always do the cardio only options with bootcamp which are very intense and pretty short. I think if you did the cardio only premix from bootcamp or any other dvd of Cathe's that contains weights and cardio and combine that with some other type of cardio you do enjoy this would be a great way to get intense effective and enjoyable cario in even though you are not such a huge fan.

If you prefer to do cardio and weights both every day, I would suggest a lifting series that will allow you to work only a muscle group or two per day. I would not do any weights the day after PUB!
