weighted balls

Hi..
I found some weighted balls at Target recently.
There were several sizes.. 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 kilo's in all.
They appear to be filled with sand?
I have noticed a medicine ball is used in the Bootcamp workout and I think one of these could quite possibly substitiute for that but what about using the balls as an accompanyment to the workouts, or in place of dumbells?
I bought 2x 3kg which equal about 6.5 lb each.
How could I use these in a Cathe workout? Would they be a usefull thing or a waste of time?

Hi Kelly,

I know they use weighted balls in Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds workouts- those are the only kind I am familiar with. I think their usefulness depends on their size and how you feel holding them. If for some reason they are more comfortable to use for certain exercises than dumbbells, go for it. Personally, the only thing I could potentially see myself using them for is ab work- maybe if I wanted to add a little more resistance to crunches, I'd hold the ball on my chest or above my head. Oh- also maybe in KPC, if I am ever fit enough, I could hold the balls, if they are relatively small, for punching & whatnot. (I doubt I will need to increase the difficulty of KPC anytime soon, though lol.) Just my opinion :) I don't have all of Cathe's workouts, so I don't know which they might be useful in.
