weight vest

does anyone work out using a weight vest? if so, do you feel it's a good piece of equipment?
i am trying to build up my arm strength but until it gets there i cannot hold heavy enough weights to give my legs the workout i want to. so i am thinking of getting a weight vest.

I have one and I really swear by it for lower body heavy-weight work in tandem with my barbell. Mine holds up to 40 lbs of iron rods in 1/2-lb increments, so increasing weightload is very eacy. Mine's the Allpro brand; there are others.

However, just a question: are you using a barbell or dumbbells for your leg work? If you are only using dumbbells, switch to barbell and that should take a lot of the work off your arms.

I love my weight vest. I bought mine because of the wonderful things said about them on this sight. It helps me in workouts like Slow and Heavy. I can lift alot more and get those lovely DOMS from doing so.

I received a weight vest for Christmas this year and it has done more to increase my leg strength than I could have imagined.

I cannot lift more than 50# over my head safely, so I had difficulty exhausting my leg muscles, but when I began using the vest, I got DOMS that made it difficult to walk the next day.

I HIGHLY recommend investing in one!

What about changing between exercises? For instance if Leaner Legs, she switches between squats and dead lifts. Do you do Dead Lifts with the vest on? And do you only wear it for leg w/o and not full body where the exercises may change up a little?

TIA,
Jeanette
