Weight of FIRM barbell?

TarHeelMom

Hey folks -- this might seem like a really dumb question, but can someone who owns the FIRM barbell verify for me what it weights with no plates? Why not weigh it, you ask? Well, I have, and mine weighs differently on two different scales (the difference is 2 lbs). I know that's not much difference, but I'm trying to be very exact in upping my weight on smaller muscle groups. If anybody knows I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks!

I remember this discussion, and I think it's either 8# or 10#. I always counted it as 10 (are either of these the numbers your scale came up with? Did you weight yourself holding the bar, then yourself without the bar, and subtract to get the weight of the bar?).

I think it is 15lbs last time I was told. I would like someone to confirm this as well. I would hate to think that I was using ligher weight all these time.

8 lbs

Hi Kathy, mine comes in at 8 pounds but I'm not sure how accurate that light of a weight is on the scale...might be the same problem you're having.
Hmmm...I'd always thought it to be 10lbs...but when accounting for weight in my log, I never count the bar, only plates anyway.

Hey everyone --

Well, I sure do feel better knowing I'm not the only one wondering!

Mine weighs 8 lbs on one scale and 10 on another. But with me holding it my weight varies by 11 pounds (tried that this afternoon.) I always thought it was 11 pounds for some reason, but I've had mine for so long I can't even recall why I think that.
And now, of course, I'm NOT sure!

Shall we reach a consensus, ladies??:)

RE: Hey everyone --

I think it's suppose to be 10 lbs. My girlfreind stood on her scale and told me it was 10 lbs. i hope it is because that's what I base everything on.
