weight loss

I work out 6 days a week, cardio/weights LOVE PH!, given up candy, and tried to lower my portion sizes. But still no weight loss. I was think of weight watchers. It seems I'm always bloated, I'm wondering if it's the pill. What do you brilliant ladies do to lose weight?

How long have you been working out. It normally takes 6-8 weeks to see any results. I have a friend who worked out faithfully, starting eating really well and drank tons of water. It took her about 3 months to see any results, but when she did, it happened fast. All of a sudden she started loosing the weight. It may be the pill also. My neighbor is an OB/GYN nurse and she says anything with progesterone in it is gonna cause you to gain weight and maybe retain water. Maybe another brand of pill may work better for you. Keep up the great work. I'm sure it will pay off eventually.

Good Luck,
Kim

It took me 10 months of working out with no weight loss to realize I had to do something about my eating. I started keeping a food journal and keeping track of how many calories I ate. I've lost 17 pounds in the past few months. I'm not even exercising as much as I was before. I think WW is a great plan. You can still eat the foods that you like but in moderation.

I've been working out for the last 10 years. But I really started getting into weights since August. I think I have to adjust my diet. I know this will take time but it's very frustrating

The key for me is keeping a food journal. I never realized how many empty calories I ate until I began tracking it. I simply do not lose weight without watching my caloric intake no matter how much I exercise.

I will start doing that. I also thought of getting a food scale. To make sure my portions are right.

Rugrat,

Wow, you are doing a great job!!!! Don't be discouraged. I was upset because I work-out regularly and keep a food diary but have not lot 1 oz in the past 6 months. I was really frustrated until I came across my measurements from 1 year ago. While I may not have lost any weight AT ALL, I did loose 10 1/2 inches. Don't be a slave to the scale. You sound really motivated and like you are doing everything right. Keep up the good work!!

Speaking of a food scale, I'd like to get one. Can anyone recommend a store that may have them? I'd rather buy from a store so I can get one right away. The catalogues I get don't have them.

Just Do It! :)

I bought my food scale at Linens n Things. I bought the super-basic $7 model and use it to track portion sizes for my husband who is diabetic.

You do NOT realize how much you eat every day until you get one of these. Portions are out of control.
