Weight loss: do I use heavier weights or lighter?

Hi Cathe and Ladies :)

I'm confused about weight training and fat verse weight loss..

If I want to loss fat do I use lighter weights and more repition (5 & 8lbs)?

For gaining muscles tone....I dunno! I'm very confused.

Hi Miosy! I see no one helped you out on this one so I'll do my best to help you out. I would definitely start off w/more cardio (4x a week) keeping in mind that as each week progresses so do you. Try to incorporate a little bit more intensity into the cardio each week but only if you feel your ready. As far as weight training, I would stick to low weight/high reps in the beginning (for toning) & the same thing as it becomes easy I want you to pump up the volume (pun intended! LOL). HTH, Kathy:D
 
When will we all learn that Cathe will NOT give nutitional advice.

Also, we need to remember that it is her job to look buff, lean, sleek, better than average...shoot, I know of only a few others on this board who even come close to Cathe's leaness and fitness.

Again, it is her job....she must sell workouts to all of us and inspire us to do so!

She will not give us this informaiton becuase it is very restictive.

You must be responding to the wrong post. The original question had nothing to do with nutritional advice.

I agree with KathyH. You start off with more cardio 4x a week, and light weights/high reps 2x a week. If you do the Slim Series, you do that everday 5x a week. SS is not as much fun as Cathe but Muscle Endurance is a good one. It works for me and now I'm going heavier and heavier with weights. It depends on what you want.

Where on earth did you come up with the nutrition?? She didn't ask about that. You might want to calm down a little bit. Yes, people bother Cathe about her eating and we all know she won't say but she can help with weight training. THAT IS HER JOB.
