How is it going everyone?

I didn't read all the posts but I did read yours, Donna, under "losing it" and all I have to say is Congratulations :D!!!!!

I have been eating like a pig over the last two weeks and have gained 5 pounds! I have the fat in the most unhealthy area too....the stomach. Now I have to pick myself up, dust myself off and get going again.

Hope everyone else is fine.

Susan.....my little man isn't working out right now...but I still am :)!

Hi, I am new to this checkin, hope you don't mind me joining. I started back on a Cathe regimen and have seen a lost on the scale. Last week was 1 pound but I will take whatever I can get. I do Cathe cardio in the morning before breakfast and am trying three days of Cathe strength in the evenings. The other days I do what I feel like. I have even pulled out Cathe's older tapes, Mega Step Blast and did the last two sections of Step Max this morning. I can only do a couple sections of her older tapes since I have only about 30-40 minutes in the morning to do anything.
Hope everyone is doing well
Rhonda

LAST EDITED ON Apr-15-02 AT 10:58AM (Est)[p]Hi Susan, and thanks for the congrats, heck, I probably worried the 2lbs off! :)
My eating was so out of control last week I was afraid I had a tape worm or something! I was too surprised to see a loss this morning, I was just praying I hadn't gained!
Clearly I don't understand this whole calories in/calories burned thing, because like I said in the other post, I ate like food was about to become outlawed last week! I could not seem to control myself, and even though most of the overeating was "good for you" foods, there were my "creme sandwich cookie" and of course, my "Ben & Jerry" moments. And one night I crammed of all things, these gourmet potato chips of my husbands into my mouth like they were the last salt on earth and I was a ravenous salt creature!
I don't know, but I'm going to try to keep my eating more normal this week, I'll still listen to my body, but I don't think I can be comfortable letting it call all the shots! :)
Last week could have been a fluke~the little weight loss troll that taunts me might be trying to lure me into a false sense of security! So I'll try to maintain more normal eating this week despite my odd results.
Good luck this week to everyone :)
Donna
p.s. Rhonda~welcome to the check in and congrats on your 1 lb loss. Any loss is something to celebrate! :)

Welcome Rhonda!

I have no new loss to report, but I'm happy I'm still in the 1's even if it is 199. I got in 5 workouts last week, less than I wanted but not awful. For the most part I kept the calories at a minimum except for 2 days. I tried a new tape with a friend last night...Bellydancing! Yes it was quite different, but surprisingly challenging and a lot of fun. I'm almost tempted to purchase it because I felt so good afterward. The twins who lead it have fabulous bodies and that I'd kill to have.

My cruise is June 1st and I leave for Miami 5/31 and I have to make some more progress by then. So let the countdown begin 1 month, 15 days, 22 hours....etc :)

Susan: Glad you are getting back on the wagon. Don't feel too bad because I have been extremely good with my eating for two weeks (I mean good) and I still have not lost. I am on the biggest plateau of my life and it is soooooo frustrating. I keep gaining and losing the same two pounds so I really don't know what to do. That is one reason I added in the heavy weight workouts at the gym. I thought maybe this would do the trick but it hasn't yet. This is the heaviest time of the month for me so maybe in a week or two I might see some progress...I don't know!

Rhonda: Welcome to our little group and congrats on your 1 pound. I would dance a jig neckid if I could just lose a pound, half a pound even.

Crystal: I don't think I would bellydancing but I guess it could be fun and challenging to see in my hips would move that way, which I don't think they would.

Donna: Sounds to me that on the weeks you eat more you lose. Good luck this week keeping things under control. I know certain times of the month I crave things such as chocolate and will not be satisfied until I have it. I never crave carrots or anything healthy though.

Like I said, my eating has been great, workouts are going well but the scale is not rewarding me these days. To make matters worse my clothes do not fit any different. I am just not sure if I should keep on doing what I'm doing and just wait for something to happen or if I should change. If I change, what exactly do I change to?????? I'm a little sick right now so everything actually seems worse than it is.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week (including me)!!!

Hi all,

I'm still here, still tryin. Thought I'd blame everything on the weather. You know "spring fever" can put you in a dither. You want to get outside after the long winter and "just do it"

Actually, Saturday the high was 16C vs our normal 8-9 so what a treat. We had the bikes out for a 18k ride and then went for an additional run. Wow, if I could keep that up I'd be slim in no time.

I'm hoping a change in the weather will motivate and shake up this plateau I've been on since I can't even remember when.

Nothing like a sunny day to cheer a person up. The snow is gone, the birds are singing and some days you know- it's just good to be alive. By the way, the wind today is strong enough to throw you to the ground, would make a good interval workout day to go walking and pick myself up every kilometer. LOL

I'm strivN2Bfit , Paulette

Hi ladies! I did not weigh myself today. I don't know if I'll weigh myself tomorrow...LOLOLOLOLOL Actually, I feel pretty much the same, but congrats to the "losers", and hello to the new ones checking in!! :) Yay!!!! Good luck everyone on eating well and getting in some activity!!!! :-jumpy

LAST EDITED ON Apr-16-02 AT 07:36AM (Est)[p]Sounds like everyone had a great week, I did too. FINALLY. I lost 1 lb., YEA!!!! I am happy. Kelly, a few months back, Donna posted a Fat Blaster Rotation. Maybe you should try that to break your plateua?? I think it was in the Videos section. It is a 3 week rotation, and maybe just what you need. Great job everyone, and the best of luck this coming week.
Lori

Donna- Great job on all that eating, and still losing. That is terrific that you kept your control, and stuck to helthy choices. Those are the times I usually blow it!!! Great Job!!

Well I'm sick of losing weight at a snails pace, so this morining I did the impossible. I got up at 6am and exercised before work. I'm sooooo not a morning person, but I'm also soooo tired of the scale and tape measure!

So, I've decided to add an a.m. workout and do my after work exercise too. That ought to frighten some of these pounds away.

Have a great rest of the week, losers

Hey all you "losers"-- and welcome Rhonda!

Just checking in for the week. Had my WW weigh-in this AM and lost 3LBS for a total of 24.2 lbs. Hurrah!! This was also my day to measure myself and I have lost 18 inches since last Oct. Just a couple more inches and I will be back in a size 14. I know that sounds big to some of you, but I started at a tight size 18 and I'm 5'9", so the optical illusion of being tall & a 14 is not too bad.

I still have about 40-45 lbs to go and hope to see a 10-12. Haven't worn a 12 since I got married 19 years ago and never a 10, but I've never worked out like I'm doing now.

Enough rambling, keep up the good work and let's keep shrinking!!

Susan

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!suzyq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can tell by your post you are on cloud 9! :) That is great news, and as a fellow size 14, "you go girl!" I too am hoping to see a 10 someday in the near future! :)
Congratulations again, and I hope to be a loser next week too!

Almost A "Gainer" yesterday!!!!

I almost blew it. It was just one of those days where I was hungry, hungry, hungry. I had my Healthy Choice Vanilla in the bowl, just waiting to attack it with Hershey's, and I found my composure and put it back. Yesterday was a struggle. If I could of had some in moderation, that would of been fine, but this was not going to be in moderation. I am just glad I thought about being sick of always starting over.

RE: Almost A "Gainer" yesterday!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-18-02 AT 08:58AM (Est)[p]It's funny how your body adjusts to eating healthier (and less). After our WW meeting yesterday, my sister and another friend and I went out to lunch - a Chinese buffet. I know, how dumb was that!!! Anyway, I used to eat 2 huge plates of food plus a little dessert. Yesterday I only ate one plate, one cookie and some fruit. I was so stuffed and miserable, still was miserable late in the afternoon. I hope I will remind myself how that felt and not do that again. That food must have stayed in my stomach for HOURS! Yuck :-tired

Sometimes my mouth wants foods I shouldn't have, but my body loves having less food!

Susan

Reading all these posts has really encouraged me :). I had decided that I wasn't going to post anymore because what good was posting on a weight loss checkin if I wasn't doing anything about losing weight.......I exercise but eating was way out of control 'again'. I can especially relate to the last two posts by Lori and Susan. They are so "ME".

Glad to see you here again Crystal :). There were just a few of us when we last 'spoke'. Nice that you are in the '1s' group and great incentive to get it even lower with that cruise coming up.

Thanks DebbieH for stopping in to say Hi.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Susan http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_Animals/catmilk.gif[/img] (this will have to be till my little guy 'works' again)

Susan: Keep posting! I feel exactly as you do... my workouts have been sporadic, my eating is not bad but not "mindful" and I was stuck weight-wise! I didn't want to post either to same the same thing yet again!!! But now I realize that even if I'm not posting, this is always the post I look for and it does inspire me. Even maintaining is an accomplishment compared to gaining!!!

Katie

Thanks Katie :) My eating the last two days was good. Now if I can just stay away from the junk. I don't have it in the house but we are eating out 3 times this weekend!

I agree with Katie! Susan, we all have weeks that are "not so great!" I look forward to your posts as well, and lose, gain or maintain, the most important thing is that we're all here together, and get strength and encouragement from one another!
And as far as the eating out this weekend~enjoy! Life is too short to get hung up on every calorie we do or do not eat! :)
