Weight loss checkin!

Steppingup

Cathlete
Well, how did everybody do this week? I am still not going to weigh until the end of the month so I won't know until then if I have lost any. I hope I have lost at least 2 or 3 pounds by then.

I have done very well with my eating this week except, of course, for Monday and I pigged out big time that day! I am thinking I will have to up my calories a little because I have felt a bit draggy this week. I think I need more carbs. Pasta here I come. If I could eat anything everyday of the week it would be pasta of any kind. LOVE IT!!!! I am still trying to find the right balance of everything in order to lose weight, feel good, and be energetic enough for my workouts. Anyone had success with that? When I was trying to lose weight last year at this time I had just started exercising and could not do near the workout that I can now. I could only get through some of the warmups of Kathy Smith videos. I'm trying to find ways of increasing the calories without increasing my fat.

Can't wait to hear how you all(I'm a southerner) did this week!

Kelly

Hello fellow weight loss supporters!

My week went okay.
My eating was good during the week, maybe a little to much sugar. This weekend was tough, I had fries! I only did cardio 3x's this week instead of six. I think I am going to stick with cardio and bring weight training in after I have lost some weight.

This week I am going to do CK twice, MIC, SM, IMAX, SW and walking.

I am going to try to watch my portion size better. I will post my weight loss(hopefully), Once a month.

I am trying for 1lb a week, so I hope I will be able to report a 4lb loss in february. I also found this week when I thought of working out and eating as being heathly for life, instead of I have to do this for weight loss, I did a lot better.

Keep up the good work ladies,
Nikki

Hello Weight Loss Support Buddies,

My eating went pretty good this week. I guess on a scale from 1-5 with 5 being excellent, I would give myself a 4.0

I believe that I'm gonna end up joining WW this week. Originally I thought I'd pass on WW and just do this check-in, but I decided over the weekend that I need both. (I'll probably just do WW for one month to get the hang of it). I find myself eating whatever is left on my 4 year olds plate. That's a bad habit that I can't seem to break. I also love sweet tea which is of course deadly for any diet. I absolutely cannot drink unsweet tea and can't stand the sweet n'low. I have been doing good with drinking plenty of water this week. And I will post my exercise in the regular check-in as usual.

I've been trying to get back into running. However, my knees and ankles were hurting a few days ago and that brought back some not so good memories of my running days.

Hey Kelly, I'm a southerner too so ya'll have a great week.

Lisa from Georgia

Good week everyone! Looks like we are off to a good start. We'll be posting successes before we know it. I'm so glad for this check-in.

Looks like we have a southern get together brewing. I'm a native New Yorker but one of the many transplants living here in Atlanta, GA.

My eating was up and down last week. Mostly because of lack of preparation and not feeling like cooking, so I was at the mercy of the cafeteria at work or pizza a few times. I'm drinking more water and remembering my supplements though. I will make this week better. My goal: To add one fresh fruit a day, have vegetables with lunch and dinner and resist fried foods.

I worked out 4 times last week, great improvement :-jumpy. I did Firm Vol. 4, Vol. 3, Keli Roberts Step, and Firm Cardio. Gotta get in some Cathe's this week. My goal is 4 cardios and 2-3 weights per week. I will report my weight on Feb 1st.

Have a great week everybody

Hi! Glad to hear everyone has a great attitude. Workouts last week were a 5- 2 strenth sessions (firm) and 5 cardio- 3 cathe step tapes, bike 3 times and treadmill 2x (some days I did step and either bike or treadmill. Eating was only a 3- need to improve.

I cheated and got on the scale- I could not help it- I was 206 12/31 and 203 yesterday- who ho!!!!

By the way, I'm from the south also and lived up in new england for 3 1/2 years and use to get teased for saying "you all"- over the period of 2 years I dropped it from my vocabulary since I was tired of being teased. It makes me smile when I hear (or read it).

Gonna work on the eating this week!!

Shame, shame Amynicole for cheating. LOL! Just kidding. I have almost jumped on the scale several times. I am just anxious to have some encouraging news. I hope it's encouraging anyway. Great on the 3 pound weight loss! Yippee! We just have to take one day at a time and one pound at a time. Before you know it we will all be sexy and healthy. I'm still waiting on the sexy part. I may be waiting a long, long time!!! :)

Have a great and healthy day everyone!!!!

Kelly

great job Amynicole. Your weight loss is very encouraging, makes me want to be better this week. Your eating habits could not have been that bad if you lost 3lbs. Did you stick with 1200 calories?

Nikki

So glad to hear of your good news with the 3 lb. weight loss!
I don't blame you for jumping on the scales. Seeing even a 1 lb loss can be the best motivator to try even harder. Likewise, when I see bad results, it causes me to not try as hard. Does that happen to anyone else? It should work the other way around, huh? I learned a long time ago to never weigh anytime near my period. Oh well, I'm blabbing. CONGRATULATIONS AMYNICOLE!
That's such a pretty name you have.

Lisa

Thanks,

I am going to try to stay off that scale until Feb 1 this time. It was calling out to me from under the bed. Staying off for a whole week was a big improvement from my past daily weigh ins!

As for the food- I was aiming for 1,200 and ended up usually somewhere between 1,500 to 1,700 one day I was 1,350. I never hit the 1,200 mark thats why I said I need improvement. I did realize last week that with all the activity I was doing in the morning (I was working out at least 1 hour usually more before my kids even woke up and you know 1 and 3 year olds wake up early :) ) I did not have the energy to keep up with them on 1,200 daily. So I've decided to modify and aim for 1,200 to 1,500 and if I stay anywhere in that range I'll be happy.

Sorry ladies that I cheated on our rules of no scale- but hey at least I fessed up to it!!

Hope you all have a great week. Its supposed to snow again today and I'm sick of snow.

Hi everyone...make way for the lone Northerner, or so it seems. I had to checkin late this week, worked yesterday. As far as clean eating goes, my week was a definite 3, but I guess that's a start in the right direction. My goal this week will be to add more veggies (I've never been a fruit eater) and more protein. This past week, I did PowerMax, Circuit Max, Step Heat, day off, MegeStepBlast, exercise bike and MIS. I must say it's been awhile since I've done strength and I'm a bit sore today. I took a day off yesterday b/c of that but today I'm going to do Powermax which brings me to the start of this month's rotation again. Anyone else doing rotations??? If so, I'd love to compare notes!!

Keep up the good work,

Stacy

P.S. This week is a new week....make it a good one!

Stacy,

I have rotations set up for the year with a few alternate ones. I have all this in my diet/exercise log. I change my rotation every 8 weeks but of course reserve the right to change mid-rotation if I feel it is not working for me.

Right now I am doing the PS series: MONDAY-Back, Biceps, & Abs....WEDNESDAY-Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps.....FRIDAY-Legs & Abs.

TUESDAY and THURSDAY and SATURDAY are cardio days and I usually just pick whatever sounds good that day. Also try to work in at least 2 or 3 stretch sessions or 1 stretch/yoga type workout. I am not really into yoga too much but have extremely limited knowledge and experience with it. I mostly want to gain some flexibility.

I will do this until March and then change to the Xpress series doing 2 body parts a day and working them 2 times a week.

I do have some rotations where I specifically add in interval training and kickboxing but I thought at the beginning of the year I would keep the cardio loose and just do what I enjoy on any particular day.

Like I said, I have rotations set up until the end of the year.

Sorry, didn't mean to go on like that but it's nice to have someone to talk to about "stuff". Some of my family members think I have lost my mind because I think about exercise so much and love to "just watch" videos sometimes!!!!

Oh well..

Catch ya later!!

Kelly

Oh and Stacy I can relate, my husband is supportive but thinks I'm a little nuts with all my videos. But he understands it is a hobby and if it makes me happy he supports it :) A wonderful man :)

Hello Everyone,
I've been following your support group, and thought I would join in. I have been working out regularly for about two years. I am 5'6" and use to weigh 153lbs. I thought just working out would be enough, but my eating habits needed some help. In November I joined WW because I couldn't do it by myself. Since then I have lost 8 lbs. I have found that because of my activity level I almost always eat more points than I'm allowed. I am losing very slowly, but hope this helps to keep it off.
Reading these messages really helps keep me motivated. I love all the advice on rotations. I've been using the firm for about 5 years and stumbled upon some cathe videos looking for something with more serious weight training. Cathe was just what I was looking for. I can't wait to try some of her step videos

Hi Kelly! Rotations for a whole year already...I'm totally impressed!! I have rotations for the next 6 months with a few alternate in case the ones I have planned dont work during some of my up and coming busy months at work. I also love to just watch videos...it helps to keep me motivated! Glad to hear I'm not the only freak, lol. Since it's been awhile since I've worked out, I planned mostly cardio for this months rotation with Circuit Max and MIS thrown in. I'm busy at work so my general workout schedule is 3 days on, one day off, etc. Next month I'm doing the CTX like you with two body parts a day twice a week. I must have had a burst of energy today...last week I did PowerMax the first 2 sections only and struggled, having to take some breaks. Today I did all three sections and only paused briefly btwn sections. Who knows where the energy came from but I'll take it! Do you ever feel like you can sometimes go on and on talking on here??? Maybe it's b/c everyone is so fun and encouraging. Anyway, keep up the good work everyone and I'd still be anxious to here what rotations other people out there are doing.

Take care,

Stacy

Oh, I forgot to ask....does anyone just do 4 week rotations?? I'm new to rotations so I'm not sure if that's long enough.

Thanks,

Stacy

Hi Everyone,

Almost did not check in, but decided this is really what I need. I loved reading all your check-ins. Sounds like everyone is doing great. My eating was about a 3.5. I am concentrating on eating fruits and vegies. I got at least 3 in everyday. I am aiming for 5 and less junk. My workouts were good.
Sunday was Step Works, Monday was 6.5 mile run, Tuesday was Body Max and I did not do push ups, Wednesday was 6.5 mile run, Thursday was Circuit Max and I love this tape, Friday I rested, Saturday 7.5 mile run.

Thanks everyone. I am aiming for a 2-3 pound weight loss this month.

Beverly

YIPPEEE!!!! I finally lost one pound. I usually weigh on Wednesday. I had been doing pretty good for 3 weeks now and couldn't seem to budge. I was so excited. You would have thought that I had dropped 10 lbs. Now I have so much more motivation.

I have been doing the stairmaster more often. So, maybe that made a difference. All I know is that I'm gonna keep on climbing on the stairmaster!!!!

Hope the rest of you are having a good week.

Lisa

Great Lisa! I hope I can be as encouraged at the end of the month. I am so anxious to find out if I have lost any!

Keep up the great work!!!

Kelly
