OK, Here it is in print:

Today I am starting all over.

Last week was so bad I can't even go into it. I don't know what got into me, I was possessed. I won't even go into how bad I was eating.

But today is a new day and a new week. I faced the scale today and saw the damage I did and it was NOT a pretty site.

I am actually up 9 lbs in 3 weeks and I am supposed to be losing!!

Well no more abusing my body with food. Time to get real TODAY!!!!

How is everyone else doing??

LAST EDITED ON Nov-24-02 AT 01:00PM (Est)[p]Marci, Now is a good time to get back on track...this is the time of year that most folks gain so give yourself a pat on the back for jumping back on the wagon at a good time. I hope you have a better week.

I'm happy to report that after 3 weeks with a 1/2 lb loss that I was down 4.8 at yesterday's weigh-in. :-jumpy This came for me in the nick of time! I needed the positive feedback to make it through the holidays. We're going to MIL's for Thanksgiving in VA. Those folks don't believe in lowfat anything so it'll be challenging but I think I'm ready.

I'm concerned about not getting 3 workouts in next week...there's always walking but hubby thinks I should bring my videos along and not care what anyone thinks (I'm lucky that he's such a sweetie!) -- I figure it'll give my sis in-laws something to talk about for a couple weeks...they're a pretty gossipy crew.

Hope you all have a great week!!

Whoo hoo Sharon, 4.8 is amazing!! Send me your skinny vibes :)

If you dont' bring your videos, you could always go for a long walk or jog outside- might be nice to get a break anyway.

My last 3 days have been terrible. My family is coming over for Thanksgiving today, so tomorrow I am back on track. But, I will try to control my eating today. I did EXCELLENT for 2 1/2 weeks on WW's Online, and then I messed up bad. At my weight, I am only supposed to eat 23 points per day, but I think I am going to increase it a bit. I am too hungry. I am pretty active and I think if I go up to 30 max, counting my activity points, I will be more satisfied. We will see how it goes.

Amynicole- You can do it!!!!

4.8 lbs. is amazing, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Hi Marci,

I know exactly how you feel about the eating and it's like some vicious cycle! You exercise but your eating is so out of whack that you can't lose or worse, you gain! But realizing it now at 9lbs is way better than letting it go on for another few weeks when it becomes 15 or more lbs. And isn't it so unfair? When you think of ALL the people in the world who DON'T exercise or watch what they eat and they may maintain while we who exercise regularly and have a bad eating week or 3, gain weight!? NOT FAIR! But you're back on track, and listen, getting back on track is difficult because you're use to eating that little something extra, and it will call to you this week, so you do whatever you need to stay on track. Sign on here and put in an SOS, or email me and we can chat our way through it (I check my mail several times a day), or just sign on here and check out the board until the cravings pass (I've been using that one lately!). Anyway we can help you get back on track and stay on track you know we're willing to do! :)

As for me, I'm down 2# and 1 inch, but no "WOOO-HOOO's" please because that's 2# and 1 inch down from the 5# and 1.5 inches I gained in the last 3 weeks! What I tried to tell myself was maybe fluid retention or whatever was actually a weight gain and that became crystal clear to me when the scale NEVER went back to 167lbs but stayed at 172lbs like it was stuck there! So I'm back on track, and it's been hard, a lot of mental coaching when I want something sweet or some late night munchie. But I think I'm back in control to a point that I clearly understand the consequences for making the wrong choices!

Yes, 4.8lbs is amazing~please send us your losing vibes so we can join you! :)

Everyone else who's lost or maintained~CONGRATS! :)

Good week everybody! :)

I want to send all of you good vibes as we get into the worst eating season of all - the dreaded Holidays! Can any of us help plan a strategy for you? What's coming up that you'd like help with, if anything?

I'm lucky because I don't go to any parties to speak of, and I do no special baking. I only have one relative who is a "food pusher," and I've trained her not to try her tricks on me.

My own tactics are to eat like a horse on Thursday of this week, forego the usual Friday pig-out, then look forward to Xmas when I'll maybe pig out on Xmas day itself. Maybe - depends on if we go to a restaurant.

I'm sticking to long cardios until after New Years - not taking any chances by not letting time crunches get in the way of working out.

You CAN get through the holidays in good shape - just do some good planning.

Plan it and then.....Just Do It! :)

I didn't eat very well this week and didn't watch my calories so I maintained. I'm trying to decide if I really want to keep at this. I'm happy where I am right now. I bought a bunch of new size 8 clothes this past week and I feel skinny. I'm sure other people would say that a size 8 isn't skinny enough. All of the extra weight is in my butt and thighs so it's easy to hide in the right clothes. And I eat bad this week and with some exercise I maintained. If I made it to a size 6 maybe I wouldn't be able to survive bad eating weeks without gaining.

I think I'm just going to try keep up my exercise and eat healthy and I'll probably keep toning up instead of losing actual weight.

Congratulations to those who lost this week! AmyNicole, I'm sure that you'll turn everything around. Good luck. BTW, don't feel bad about that thread over on VF. I think some of the Ya Yas were way too sensitive.

That's good planning Honeybunch! I'm fortunate as well that hubby and I don't have a "holiday party scene" to worry about.

Hubby works until 6pm on Thursday so we'll just have a regular dinner and since my mom is still recovering from her recent surgery, she's in no mood for a "festive" Thanksgiving, so my oldest daughter will cook for she and my dad and they'll have their own little Thanksgiving there at my parents.

So holiday 1 is under control, and I'll probably handle Christmas dinner by making it my "cheat meal" for the week, plus I'll do like last year and take my measuring cups/spoons along and measure my portions. It took a few extra moments (my mom does a buffet style type setting) to measure things out, but I felt good about my meal, and I felt in control and by measuring I knew exactly how to estimate my calorie intake (using worst case scenarios! :))

Marci,

In addition to sending you skinny vibes http://www.plauder-smilies.de/scatter.gif I also wanted to say that I agree with Jennifer Ann re: the thread. I didn't even realize that the two were connected until someone posted a link. I think the problem is that Sunday is often a rest day for folks and they didn't have access to those good endorphins :) Hopefully everyone will feel better about things tomorrow.

Jennifer Ann.. I know everyone is different but I would be estatic to get into a size 8. I'll be happy with a 12 and figure it'll take me another year or so.

Most importantly if you are happy with your size and are healthy..then you are doing great!!

Donna...if I haven't done so already...thanks for posting your weight loss rotation and sharing your story. I don't think I would have seriously given Cathe's workouts a chance for my 200+ lb body if I hadn't happened across one of your posts.

Honeybunchthanks for the good advice.. I've been practicing already...but I keep having a vision of the whole family staring while I try to wrestle my plate away from my mother-in-law so I can serve myself..:-hmmm

See ya,

Candy...........

Hi Candy,

I didn't get your email probably because in my "anal way" of deleting any message that I don't recognize immediately, I deleted it thinking it was junk mail.
Once I receive an email from someone here I move their address to my safe list so all future emails will go to my inbox, so if you could email me again and put something in the subject line like, "hey, its me candy!" I'll be sure to catch it! :)

Sorry I missed your first one! :(

Hello - out of control when eating out

LAST EDITED ON Nov-25-02 AT 11:22AM (Est)[p]I would like to join this group. I currently weigh 180, down from 220 in 6 months (getting there very slowly), and I just starting to exercise (posted another thread about that).

I've got a food plan that is very healthy and it's something I can do for the rest of my life. I'm also in therapy.

I don't usually eat out that much. It seems that no matter what my plans are, once I look at the menu my good intentions fly out the window and I order something that I later feel bad about. My family and I are eating out at the Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving, and I'm already feeling guilty. So, I’m planning ahead, and I'm not even gonna look at that darn menu:

Turkey w/o gravy
Cranberry sauce
Dressing w/o gravy
Mashed potatoes w/o gravy
Green beans (that are cooked in fat)
Coleslaw
1 corn muffin
NO DESSERT (I'd rather have more carbs and fat)

I plan to eat a very healthy breakfast and raw-live foods for lunch. This feels reasonable to me, even though I wouldn't eat like this on a normal day. I welcome feedback.

Thanks for listening!
Rhonda

For me its TTOTM, so I'm ignoring the 1.5 pound gain my scale showed this morning! Good job to all losers this past week. Thanksgiving is going to be tough, since I have no plans not to eat a little bit of everything! I will combat it with lots of cardio and strength training!

Linda

RE: Hello - out of control when eating out

Hi Rhonda, welcome to the check-in! Newcomers are always welcome to join in. If I read correctly, you've lost 40 lbs which is just fantastic!

I lost 1# this week, which I'm happy with since I had a few bad days.

Unfortunately I've got the flu or something, so I haven't been able to exercise since Friday morning. I'm hoping tonight I can do something light (I knew I was keeping some old short videos for a reason). I don't like to push things when I'm not feeling well though, we're trying to get our house ready for all of the guests (!!!) so I may need all of my puny energy for that. :)

Let's all just say a silent prayer that we make it through the holidays! Since Thanksgiving is at my house this year, I can at least control the menu somewhat. No steaks, no butter on the corn, etc!

Hope everyone has a great holiday!

-Kay

Hi All,

I have had a really good exercise week, lots of walking, Cathe cardio and strength training, I have eaten less than I have for ages. Went to my Rosemary Conley exercise class last night, had my weigh in, I have lost a measley 0.5#, WHAT ? So, I have done really well, but the scales have hardly budged, yet I feel slimmer and toned for the first time in a long time ? WEIRD !!!!!!!!!!!! My RC lady wonders if I am not eating enough to lose weight ?

Well done to all those that lost this week !!

Marci - don't worry about your food blip, you will get it together soon. I went through one a few weeks ago, and I have finally managed to get back on track.

A big welcome to all the newcomers !!!!!!!!!!!

And I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving - I shall be thinking of you all tucking in to your turkey on Thursday ! ENJOY ! :)

Anna :)

Just remember, you're in control as far as your food choices are concerned. NO ONE is going to dictate to your mother-in-law about what SHE eats, so don't take any crap from her.

Relatives trying to force feed and making snide remarks about our good efforts is a real sore point with me, can't you tell?!

Just Do It! :)
