Weight Loss Check-In 8/12/02

Hi all!

I lost 2-lbs. this week, but I think it is all muscle! I still can't lift weights due to the elbow tendonitis. Strangely enough though, I am getting more compliments now than when my muscles were bigger. People seems to notice that I lost a lot of weight now. I think it should be the other way around. I am more impressed by big muscles than lankiness.

I have been eating low-fat ice cream and frozen yogurt everyday since I read the Ice Cream Diet book. The book actually has many good suggestions in it. It is educational.

Anyway, how did everyone else do this week?

P.S. I only 3 more pounds to go to reach the goal weight of 140 that I set back in March for my wedding date in October.

Hi!

I hope you can lift like you want to soon. Congrats on the 2lbs!! What day in October are you getting married? DH and I are celebrating our 7th anniversary on Oct. 8. Time flies! Can't believe it is 7 years and 3 kids later already!!

I lost 2 lbs this week and I am really happy with that.

Hi all :)

Cruncholi & amynicole: BIG BIG BIG Congrats on your 2# losses! :) I'm happy for both of you!

I, on the other hand have NOTHING to report for last week! No # loss and No inches either! :( I've gone cold-turkey on the Healthy Choice, it may be low in fat, but I was killing myself with calories, so I'm back to my "fat free jello pudding" until I get the scale moving again. I figure if I have to have a snack, at least I can go as low-cal as possible!

But I tell you what! If I go cold-turkey on the ice cream this week and don't have a d#@n loss to report next week, you will hear me screaming my post in from PA. next week!

So this week I am eating as well as I can and hopefully without the lure of the ice cream, I'll have a good week. :)

Good luck to everyone this week,
Donna

p.s. Healthy Choice really is a wonderful alternative for ice cream lovers, I, unfortunately have "portion control" issues, so basically that's why it's cold-turkey for me! :)
and for anyone kind enough to be thinking, "oh, she's being too hard on herself..." NO! anytime the container says there are 16 servings, and I turn it in to 4 servings, there's a "portion control" issue going on there! :) I'm such an "all or nothing" person! :)

Hi ladies! I managed to lose two pounds this week. I think it is still just pregnancy weight coming off (maybe breastfeeding is helping??) because I know I am not eating well enough to lose two pounds. I still am just taking walks as far as exercise goes. Today I got in both a morning and an afternoon walk! I thought about going to a step class at my gym, but then I said to myself, "Heather you had a baby four weeks ago, give yourself some time!" It is hard to be patient about getting back into working out full strength. Cruncholi and Amynicole-congrats on your losses!! Donna-I know if you eat really well this week that scale is going to move for you! I have a problem with portion control as well. Working on that... Have a great week everyone! Heather

Well, let's put it this way...I fell off the wagon, it ran over me, a wheel caught my pant's leg and it drug me down the hill!!! That just about sums of the last part of the week. I just don't know what is wrong with me. I am not even looking at the scale this week. I will do better this week...I WILL!!!

Linda: Congrats on the two pounds and being so close to your goal. You must feel great about it.

Amynicole: Congrats on your two pounds also. We celebrate our 7th in September. Time really does fly.

Donna: I am right there with you on the portion control. In just about a week I ate an entire carton of rocky road Healthy Choice ice cream. I KNOW myself well enough that in order to lose weight I have to go cold turkey on everything. No splurges until I am through losing. That is sooooo hard, especially when you think it might be six months or more before you lose the weight. It's the only way that works for me, unfortunately.

Well, hopefully I will get it together this week and climb back up the hill and get back on that wagon...and get new pants!!!!

Sweet potato recipe?

Kelly,

Are you the one that posted that delicious looking sweet potato recipe at VF forum? I copied it, it sounded so delicious! :)
I'm going to try and play around with lowering some of the fat content, but if I can't I can't! I'll try it anyway, it really sounds yummy!
I'll let you know how it comes out! :)

And for anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about~over at the VF forum "our Kelly" posted a truly delicious sounding recipe for sweet potatoes, complete with butter, sugar and pecans! Check it out, it sounds sooooooo yummy!
Well, now that I think about it I think I'll put it on next weeks dinner schedule, I'm trying really hard to maintain this week! :) I am SOOOOOOOO missing my Healthy Choice this week, I swear I'm having withdrawal symptoms from it!
