Weight limit for HIgh Step

I was considering purchasing a high step from fwonline where I saw that
it only has a 200 lb max weight capacity (I am assuming this means total
weight - a person's weight plus any additional weight he or she may
lifting at the time). I notice that in many of Cathe's strength
videos, step up leg presses are used frequently and as I weigh 170 lbs
and can easily lift 50 to 60 lbs on my shoulders, wouldn't this
exceed tha rated capacity for this piece of equipment???? I would think
not only men would run up against this problem, but many stronger
women may also. Just wondered if anyone else has thought about this as
a safety issue.

Hi Sadsack! I don't know the exact reasons as to why the maximum weight load is only 200 pounds. But I can tell you from experience that the High Step holds much more weight than 200 pounds securely. I have a 225 pound man in my class who always does leg presses with a loaded barbell and the high step is 100% sturdy while he is doing this. My husband is over 200 pounds and he never has any trouble while exercising with the High Step either. It is a very solid structure designed with reinforcement on all four sides. Take Care!

Hi, Sadsack! I like your screenname. I noticed at walmart .com that one step had a 200 lb pound limit, another 300:

Strange but here's the one you might prefer:

"The Origianl Health Club Bench Step System" gives an extra 100 pounds as opposed to "The Step" and it's cheaper!

Tell me, what is it you plan to do
