Week to Week 10/19/20-10/25/20

Hi everyone!
KY, a Barlates Total body workout and walking yesterday.

Does anybody here buy Cathe’s calendars? Outside of knowing the date what do you find beneficial about them?

Carol, my workouts are scheduled to be here Monday. They could land in my PO Box (no delivery here) as soon as Saturday or take a tour of the USA & arrive a week late. Such is life in the boonies. My rotation is in flux too.

I’m 65 and due to injury had to fight to regain my cardiovascular endurance last year. It’s still not what it was but continues to improve. I’d suggest slow and steady. Don’t try to tough it through a workout that’s too hard but likewise modify as much as you need to.
An example for me is burpees. I couldn’t do them at all so I started doing them against my Git Tower set high. Each time it got easier I’d lower it. Eventually I tried the floor and I could do it!

Lisa - Cathe’s downloads are too large to be practical for me. Still, I need to probably try one and see if I can download it at a smaller size. I’d have to burn it to a DVD but I can do that!

Sherri - Layla’s incision looks great! I can’t believe you trained her not to lick! That’s amazing!

Geoff - I still have the extra Cathe DVDs I previously offered ou. I’ll pm you so we can talk again.

Hi all,

CarolRose and Lisa, I hear you on changing things up. I was never big on weightlifting when I taught aerobic classes. After my low back injury 16 years ago, I had to severely limit cardio and yoga. I just could not do it. So I switched to weights. Now I love it. My heaviest weight use is 12 lbs. I have a wonky left shoulder so I doubt that I will ever use higher weight load.

Lannette, we must have posted at the same time! I will have to give Barlates another try. I didn't click with her the first time I did one of her workouts.

Today was KCM Build & Burn: Lower Body Tabata. Have a great day!

Thanks, @ddsadie! :)

I love how we all have modified our routines based on listening to our bodies, and have forged ahead despite aging and life getting in the way. My entire mindset changed when I wasn't working out, and not for the better. I'm so glad I made the commitment to begin again. :)

CarolRose, The same happened to me. My mindset was terrible. It was so hard and painful to start over again and learn how to modify everything. I was use to going all out and now suddenly just walking to the bathroom was a workout. Now I try to work smarter and modify anything that might trigger nerve pain. It is great that you are staying determined and getting it done. Kudos!

(((HUGS)) And kudos to you as well! Thank you for sharing this. It helps to know others are struggling with similar issues.

Hi Ladies,

Short workout in the books today Stephanie Huckabee Powerfit Harmony DVD to finish the week.

Lisa: Mostly, looking for Firm shirts, caps, excreta :)

Geoff & Cooper

I’m still a day behind with checking in but at least I’m here. ;) Yesterday was KY and a Barlates Band Wo followed by her Flow cardio. I really enjoyed this combo!

Sherri, Linda’s WOs have been hit or miss with me but in general more hit than miss. I just linked to a section of her website (on my blog) where she has 30 day rotations in different categories.
The workouts are all free on YouTube. I find the calendars helpful because you know which workouts are free. It’s on her website under rotation bundles as well.

Carol, Pure Strength has really passed the test of time.

Lisa, You mentioned dreary weather. We are coming out of drought conditions so we’re welcoming rain while still not enjoying it. I’m waiting for the snow to fly and brighten things up.

Geoff, I enjoy reading about your WOS. Very eclectic. I have a few Firm collector items including a few pieces used in filmings. I’m not ready to part with them just yet. :) For the most part the were given to me, which makes them special.

Interesting discussion on the way that working out or as importantly not working out impacts us. Movement is the glue holding me together. It’s always been like that since I was a small girl who just had to run, climb and jump.

Have a great day everyone!

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on them Carol.
Mine should be at the PO today or tomorrow. We had another power outage so they may not have been able to check them in!

Hi all

Today was CL Cardio Strength Blast.

Great news on the new workouts! They most likely will show up On Demand next week.

Have a great day.

Hello everyone,

Today was KCM Total Body Kickbox.

Welcome Jodi1kenobe!

CarolRose - I am jealous!! I am really interested in the Perfect Flow workouts. Can't wait to hear your reviews.

Lannette - Thanks for the info on Barlates. I will check it out.

Waves to Lisa and Geoff!!

Weekend!
Hello to all!
Yesterday I did my KY and Linda’s Barlates Mat Glutes 28m and Mat inner thighs 27m. They’re from the same set as the mat abs that I didn’t care for. The Glutes wo could be a disaster for someone with bad knees. But mostly I think that performing rep after rep of similar movements for 28 minutes per body part isn’t necessary or fun.

My new Cathe DVDs did arrive! I really want to see how Cathe suggests to use them but I may not be able to wait.

I hope everyone has a good weekend

Good morning! Just finished Perfect30 Pump Lower Body!!! My review is HERE.

Tuesday is my birthday so Hubby and I are going out to eat later today. Enjoy your Saturday, everyone!! :)

Happy Birthday CarolRose!

Yesterday I did KY & Barlates Beginner Intervals Compound. It wasn’t anywhere near HIIT but I enjoyed it anyway. I also played around with my next rotation. Cathe’s plan for Perfect30 is up and I downloaded it but I have some other WOs I want to mix in.

Have a great day everyone.
