We’re making some important changes here at Cathe Dot Com- and it means some amazing savings for you!
We are genuinely excited to share some important news regarding the evolution of our business!
After much consideration, we’ve made the decision to officially phase out our DVD and fitness gear offerings. This shift will allow us to dedicate our full attention to expanding Cathe OnDemand, our streaming platform, and we believe it’s a fantastic opportunity for growth! We are so excited for the journey ahead as Cathe OnDemand continues to evolve.

What does this mean for you?

With our complete focus on Cathe OnDemand, you can look forward to more new workouts being released frequently, as well as a wealth of fresh content to explore. This shift opens the door for continued expansion of our fitness library! DVD sales have been steadily declining as more individuals are opting for streaming options. Keeping up with DVD production has become increasingly challenging and has delayed the release of new workouts. By stepping away from DVDs, we can ensure a quicker turnaround, bringing you new content much faster! Not ready for OnDemand streaming? Don’t worry, we will continue to release new workout content in download format as well.

In addition, we will also be closing out most of our fitness gear line. Due to rising tariffs and shipping costs, it has become quite difficult to restock or add new products. So, we’re clearing our warehouse! Starting Today, we will be offering significant clearance discounts on our DVDs and fitness gear (USA Only)! https://shop.cathe.com

This is your last chance to grab any Cathe fitness equipment or workouts in DVD format.
We understand that change can be hard, but we are genuinely thrilled about what lies ahead as we embark on this new journey together.
Thank you for your unwavering support of Cathe and Cathe Dot Com! We can’t wait to share the exciting new things coming your way!

Thanks for the update altho many of us have suspected you were moving in this direction for awhile. I will miss/mourn the dvds but have become comfortable with downloads since you started offering the LIVES as downloads. I'm very much looking forward to more frequent content offered and truly offer my sincerest wishes for your continued success! :)

I’m sorry to hear this. It’s the end of an era, but also in keeping with the passing of the “old world” as we know it, and the “new world order.” I’m not into streaming, unless I’m away from home, then I’ll join for a month only, and go back to my DVDs. It will be hard if a DVD breaks, and there is no replacement, but everything passes, and I suppose the younger generation prefer streaming to actually owning something physical. I’m sad about it, but I’m old anyway, and hopefully my DVDs will last me the rest of my life. Thanks Cathe for all you have brought us, and good wishes for the future.

No surprise. The cost of shipping drove me away from purchasing DVDs a few years back. Downloads are easy and quick. The DVD world had advantages for sure. Premixes and turning off the music! This move keeps your company current with technology and that’s the way of the world now.

I saw this coming & am grateful we had DVD's from Cathe for as long as we did, not to mention all the features included on those DVD's! My only issue about subscribing is with my iffy internet connection. Does anyone else deal with buffering & disconnecting? I will admit I didn't see the end of the Cathe Gear coming though! I took advantage of the clearance sale!

Awhile back when Cathe's super discounts started (Oct. 2024) I started purchasing back-ups of some favorites. I've only ever had one dvd fail (Lower Body Blast) in over 25 years & they are all heavily used. I think you should be good, but you could pickup some favorites at rock-bottom prices right now if you wanted. Or not. If one fails, you can probably buy a used one on Amazon or Ebay or trade for it on Videofitness.com or get it as a download from Cathe. There are still options. Downloads are pretty easy now too if a person (like me right now) doesn't want to stream.

Had a feeling this would happen. I get it that storage is also expensive and holding loads of inventory for who knows how long gets costly.

I'd like to make a request - with your time getting freed up and money being able to be allocated elsewhere, that you figure out a way to provide pre-mixes with your downloads.

I just don't see myself subscribing to streaming services because of connectivity problems. There's nothing quite so frustrating as being in the groove with a workout, fully warmed up, and then having it lag or drop on you entirely.

A heads up, too, that there are more and more reports out there of people returning to analog because they're getting fed up with not owning what they pay for. Food for thought, though it's clear you've made your decision, which I'm sure was months, if not years in the making.

Appreciate the discount for your clearance. I've taken advantage and snagged some titles I've been on the fence about for quite some time.

I'd appreciate this also. One option would be for Cathe to create shorter workouts so we could "blend" our own. Cathe's downloads of dvd titles (and LMRE/2' bonuses) do include the chapter points, so if one had the appropriate software, one could create their own premixes. We'll see what Cathe & Team come up with for us - I'm actually looking forward to the evolution.

We did when we used that wifi thingy/doogle from Verizon - it was terrible and terribly expensive. We are semi-rural and at the time it was our only option. Finally, we were able to get cable-internet. We have no issues now but we do update our modem and router every few years too. Maybe contact your provider and see if updating the modem and/or router would help. I had simple DSL when I lived in the city - I had no problems with that either.

@Cathe Friedrich and @forum_admin

I'm excited about your "evolution" and all the possibilities this could bring. I know Cathe is the name, creative force and face of the company. But since On-Demand will be having more frequent content in the future, I think it'd be rather cool to have additional instructors too. I understand Jenn leads spin classes in your gym - perhaps consider featuring her as the instructor for some spin workouts. I've heard you have an awesome guy (don't know his name) who leads kickbox workouts too - maybe consider a few offerings from him too. Just thinking ... take it or leave it.:). For me, since I own pretty much all your dvds and about 20% of LIVES, On-Demand needs to offer much more new content before I'd consider subscribing. So just thinking out loud here.

Woohoo!! So thankful for this change! As someone who stopped buying DVDs ages ago due to the costs of shipping to my part of Canada, it was tedious waiting to receive new downloads until the DVDs were being shipped. I can see myself just paying the streaming membership in the future - it’s still a lot cheaper than a gym membership. The recent updates to On Demand have really brought Cathe.com up-to-date.

Lol ... they had me at "more frequent content"! I so enjoy Cathe's content, I'm looking forward to more offerings. It may be awhile before I consider subscribing to On-Demand due to having most of what she presently offers, but .... depending on the future offerings, I'm not ruling it out down the road.

I moved to streaming a while back due to delays in shipping DVDs to New Zealand. Shipping costs are also prohibitive for me purchasing Cathe gear. I've found the occasional item on Amazon, like the step mat, but mostly I have to find local substitutes. I agree for those who have issues streaming due to bad internet connections that finding a way to provide premixes with downloads would be good. Will also be good to see more frequent content.

I am technically challenged. My last downloads were years ago to iTunes, the Ripped with HIIT Upper Body Circuit was one I remember, but as the laptop screen was small, I couldn’t really enjoy it, and that laptop is now obsolete. Everything changed, and I can’t even remember how to use iTunes now. Then they started charging money for all that used be be part of it, and now it’s the same with iPhone, where all the music I bought, now they want a subscription to hear what I already paid for years ago. I lost patience with all the technological changes, and the greed, so don’t bother with it except my iPhone.
I’ve only had a problem with one DVD, so far, so they are pretty durable. I’m thinking of buying back ups of my favorites, but I wonder how long it will be before DVD players are obsolete. I’ve had mine since 2015. I don’t know if they still sell them these days. The world is changing, and we either change with it, or not, but to be honest, I don’t like this new world, and as I’m old now, I don’t want to change with it, so I’ll accept the passing of what was.

My internet is the same, so that’s another reason I prefer DVDs.

DVD players are still available, altho we did buy one on sale & put it in storage just in case lol. But i still have the first one I bought, a dvd/VHS combo which still works from 2000 - so they're durable too.

I checked your profile - we are almost the same age so you're not too old to learn new things! Learning new things helps keep the cobwebs from forming. If you'd like some help with downloads, like how to store & use them - I can privately (thru the PM system here) walk you through it if you'd like. Hate to see a Cathlete give up on her favorite instructor!

On Demand has a more streamlined look, they offer different ways of organizing the workouts - by series, type, or rotation. Currently if you’re using the Apple On Demand app on your phone or Apple TV, all the premixes are available with each workout.

If you sort the workouts by Rotation, then all of the workouts needed for that rotation are right there, in the correct order, so you just hit play.

But with the subscription you also get the workout blender, which has all of the premixes as well. And the workout blender makes it easy to mix and match chapters from any of her workouts. The creative options are endless.

Finally, the subscription gives you access to Cathe Live, with a new workout uploaded every week.

Ultimately, an On Demand subscription is the best tool for providing immense variety and super easy access, especially if you want to take your workouts with you when you’re travelling or staying somewhere else. With the On Demand app on my iPhone I am literally taking Cathe’s entire library with me wherever I go. I like the ease, variety, flexibility, and spontaneity that it allows.

Hi Cathe, since you are focusing on streaming now would you be able to add all the premixes on the intensity series on demand? Also, could you add sts total body premixes on there too? Both premixes are only offered on the dvd version. Thanks

I won’t give up on Cathe. I see her most days of the week in my workouts. There are so many that I can’t get to them all, so I know I have enough to keep me going, and all the rotations. I’m doing the 2016 December rotation right now, which is one of my favorites. That’s a good idea about buying a back up DVD player. I may just do that. I still learn new things, but only things I enjoy, and that interest me. Thank you for your offer of help, if I ever want to download a Cathe future workout, I’ll take you up on it. Thanks a lot!
