Ways to use tahini

SRP

Cathlete
Okay, I've made hummus and a tahini salad dressing. How else can you use this stuff? Any ideas out there? Thanks!!!!

I used to go to a restaurant that seemed to use tahini in everythings from salad dressing, to sauces, to soups. (for a time, I couldn't stand the stuff anymore!).

Previously, I used to make a spread mixing about equal parts of tahini and miso (the creamy/fatty tahini and the salty miso tastes blended together very nicely). BUT, this was back in the days when I didn't pay attention to fat or calories, and it's a very high calorie spread (especially if you use it on sesame crackers, like I did!). I suppose you could modify it by thining with water to make a salad dressing? Or mixing with some blended white beans to make a dip?

You can use it to make a sauce to put over the noodle of your choice - kinda like the Cold Sesame noodles that you can find in Chinese restaurants. I usually add bean sprouts and scallions to it as well.

Give me a minute - I'll find the recipe.

Edited to add: Dang! The recipe I was thinking of uses peanut butter instead of tahini, but I wonder what would happen if you made a substitution? Here's the recipe:

Mollie Katzen also has a Tahini-Lemon sauce on this site that sounds pretty good. Here's the link:
