Ways to shorten new series

I think this new series is as close to perfection as circuit workouts from an at home instructor could be. I LOVE the long length, bonus footage, premix options, even the loud music on LIC, but for those who do not like the long length here are some ways to shorten the workouts close to one hour or under without even going into premix land:
B&G:
WU, Standing only, Core, Stretch - 59 mim.
WU, Floor Work only, Core, Stretch - 48.5 min.
WU, Standing only, Floor Work only, Stretch - 65 min.
WU, Floor Work only, Bonus Lower Body, Bonus Stability Ball abs, stretch - 55 min.
WU, Standing Work only, Bonus Stability Ball abs, Stretch - 60 min.
WU, Standing only, Stretch - 45 min.
WU, Floor work only, Stretch - 34.5 min.
BM2:
WU & Step combos only, stretch - 40 min.(add in bonus cardio for 46 min. workout)
WU & Power Circuits only, stretch - 43 min.(add in bonus cardio for 49 min. workout)
WU, Step combos only, abs, stretch - 49 min.
WU, Power Circuits only, abs, stretch - 52 min.
WU, Step combos, upper body, stretch - 60 min.
WU, Power Circuits, upper body, stretch - 63 min.
WU, upper body, abs, stretch - 45 min. (add in bonus cardio after WU for a 51 min. workout)
LIC:
Do workout as is leaving abs for another day:
63 min.
CF:
WU, BM2 finished combos through LIC bonus combo, stretch - 34 min.
WU, BM2 finished combos through BM2 Power Circuits, stretch - 50 min.
WU, through LIC bonus combo, skip BM2 Power Circuits and go to Six Drill Max Drills - 56 min.
WU, BM2 Finished Combos, skip LIC Bonus combo, BM2 Power circuits thorugh stretch - 61 min.
DM is the only one that you can't shorten easily without using the premix options. I'm betting I didn't even hit all the options, and remember this is w/out going into premix options. This is one of the things I LUV about Cathe...versatility and usability options galore!

Angela,

I can't thank you enough for doing this - I am about to admit to something almost blasphemous.........I've only done one of the new workouts, and I've had them for weeks. I just couldn't figure a way to fit them into my measly hour workout time. So you see, you're really an Angel for doing this, as your name implies!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I don't have to shorten them. They freeze all over the place and/or skip chapters, so I frequently end up with much shorter workouts than planned. I say, better than "destroyed," which is what SNM plans to do with them, "Terminate with extreme prejudice!"

Both times I've done Bmax 2, I've ended up doing the step and circuit segments (and warm-up/cooldown/stretch) one day, and the 'double upper body' premix the next day (last time, with the bonus stability ball abs workout from B&G...which I never get to otherwise...instead of the included ab work). Works great for me!

I also do B&G as "B" only (by that time, I've hit an hour, and feel plenty worked out!).

I feel so out of the loop when it comes to premixes. Am I missing something? I look at them and I always end up saying "phooey" I'll just do the whole workout (sometimes all of it, sometimes not). But what exactly are the premixes? Is it something if I'm targeting a specific area, time related or ?????

A premix is something Cathe offers that changes the workout up such as Drill Max has several cardio premixes...one that does just the cardio segment but scrambled so the cardio segments aren't in the typical order, some premixes are just the upper body weight work or the lower body weight work, or total body weight work, etc.... I am posting a link to another forum where someone actually wrote out what exercises/segments each of the premixes include:

Premixes can be used for time constrictions, to change your routine up, to focus on something different, to add variety, or whatever...they are a really nice feature.

Thanks so much for this. I just figured since I was working out I'd do the "original" but this sounds like it can very beneficial especially if I need "something" different to shake up my normal routine. I appreciate your help.

Tina,
Definitely check out the premixes. I like some of the premixes better than the original workout (like the P/S, S/S premixes that make the workout a bit more challenging), and on the new DVD's, the premixes include bonus footage that isn't in the original workout (something I hope Cathe/SNM will continue in the future). Also, on some DVD's that contain 2 workouts, there are premixes that combine the two (like the KPC/L&G DVD, which has some nice combo workouts).

If you find that the workout 'as-is' isn't exactly what you were looking for, there might be a premix that addresses your needs.

Angela,
Thanks for doing this:) After doing the November rotation I am tired of working out for over an hour! I love the new dvds and I think I will be using the premixes more than the actual workout in the future.
Katheryn- going forward, I too will be doing BM2 cardio one day and double upper body the next:) 90 min. is just to long for me

Angela-

Thank you so much for taking the time do this and your premix rotation. They are both so helpful for everyone. Your time is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Those are all good ideas!

For a real shortie I like doing the upper body from bodymax 2, and the next time, standing legs from butts and guts.

I just don't have an hour attention span for exercise anymore.

Thanks so much for this Angela, just today I was thinking about doing B&G, and thinking I was definitely going to have to use a premix. Now I dont have to do that!

THANK YOU!! I love the workouts but they're way to long for me. It was really nice of you to spend so much time figuring out how to shorten them up. That's a task that would've overwhelmed me.

Well, I had a bad cold and could not workout for about 7 days...so figuring this out helped me cope....tee hee!
