Ways to rate yourself

Maryjane and others who have a tendency towards rating themselves by the numbers, may be interested in the following sites:

Compare your weight to the general population of women your age at http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi.htm

Determine if you have a healthy waist-to-hip ratio at: http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/whr

and this website will tell you your real age in terms of your health factors (takes some time to complete test because it's really thorough):

I'm having fun surfing the web today! Now I gotta go work out.....

Yikes! The average 47-year-old woman must be pretty heavy, because I'm in the 9th percentile (heavier than only 8% of women my age). And I am not "skinny" by any means (though maybe those 91% of women who are heavier than I am think so!)

Good lord, I'm in the 4th percentile & that &*#^$#^% website is telling me I'm underweight. First all my friends & coworkers, now my %^#$^(# computer! x(

Thank you Nancy. Now not only are we geniuses with our many posts, but we are also toothpicks with our single digit percentages. (I was in the 4th percentile also)

Happy Holidays, etc etc yadiyadiyah

Geez!!

If single percentiles are considered toothpicks, then I must be the "whole" tree the toothpicks come from.

Mine is 11 percentile (gasp!)

At 63kg and 5 7" - peoples choice recommends I should weigh 61kg
and medical recommendations think I can weigh up to 72 kg (I dont think so! thanks very much)

Hmmmmmmm

And Kathryn, don't forget that much more of your weight is muscle than the average woman. This calculator doesn't differentiate between muscle and fat. And you're STILL in the single digits.

I took the realage test a couple weeks ago. It says my real age is 27. I am 32 so I will take it!

Another great site is caloriecontrol.org they have a lot of great tools.

My BMI is too high. I have to lose a few pounds to be in normal range. I am 5'10", I weigh 180, and wear a size 14. I can't believe I just admitted that! Cathe has helped me a lot, I am getting lots of compliments and I am seeing results. I fit into 12's but a little clingy on the bum, so maybe by mid-Jan I can start fitting into 12's and then my ultimate goal is to fit into an 8.

Did ya'll really want to know all that??:)

Lori

Well, Lori, I know you don't need to be told this, but if you're taller than average (5' 3"? 5' 4"?) then you pretty much wear larger sizes and it's because your legitimate body parts, like skeleton and musculature are bigger. No shame there!! When I was 20 and weighed 125 lbs (I'm 5'8") I wore size 8 and 10 often (this was back in the 70s when those numbers meant something different than they do now) I now weigh 130 with lots more muscle and wear 6.

If you are tall, you ain't gonna wear no size 0 or size 2, most likely!!

Hey! Lissen up! I am a genius (check out how many posts I have) }( :* :+

At 5'9" and 125 lbs, I'm in the 2nd percentile.:-( According to this site, most women my height would like to weigh 133 lbs. For my build, I think I look best at 130.

Oh, and please watch your &*%$#* language, Maximus.:p

Well, you have a serious problem then, Sooooosan. I think you should eat a pie or two. Problem solved!! ;-)

Okay! Im not understanding this. Why am I the ONLY one so far in double didgits?

Tell it to me straight gals - I can handle it........(gulp)

I'm sure most people who don't get a "sexy" rating, just aren't posting, claridge. Just like people who don't age well aren't as likely to go to college reunions.

By the way, what time is it where you are?

I too was in the 2nd percentile... told me I was under weight, said i should weight 119... well that won't happen........ I think it said my bmi was 17. something..... I don't know what that means..... Rhonda:7
