Way OT - Kitchen remodel and oven confusion?

I remember someone here mentioned a site called That Garden Site which deals with many topics and has been invaluable but I need even more input. I am looking for info on kitchen appliances/remodeling.

Does anyone have another source I could go to? I am so stuck regarding my oven decision. We have ordered a double wall oven which is what I have now. I have seen much posted lately about speed cook microwaves and wonder if I should be considering this instead of my second oven. It would allow for me to have my warming drawer higher off the floor (because I am putting that under my ovens or in this case oven/micro combo which is not as high).

TIA. Hope you guys know another internet site. This is making me insane.

We are doing the kitchen using Kitchenaid SS. We originally chose their SS double oven and actually have that on order. I am just wondering if I should consider the Ultima micro/oven combo or even the convection micro/oven combo instead? It is really expensive and I don't really understand the difference between the Ultima technology and their regular convection micro. I do know the micro is really small and I am worried that I will regret giving up my second full size oven (you know, the one that has been broken for 3 years now).
 
Hi Hedy. I guess it will depend on how often you plan to use it and what you're going to use it for. Is there an appliance store near you that carries Kitchenaid and could give you a demo or explain the benefits between the different models? They have so many to choose from these days, it's mind boggling!
 
I can't receive a consistent answer from any of the salespeople at the local stores. They just want to make the sale so they aren't really interested in my needs.

If anyone has a website that they know of where kitchen remodelling is being discussed please let me know. Thanks.
 
Have you checked Consumer Reports? DH & I used the website frequently when chosing appliances for a new house. There was a small fee which allowed access for several months.

Also check the HGTV website. I don't know how much info from their shows goes on the web. I was kind of addicted to their kitchen remodeling show for awhile.

My girlfriend has the GE Advantia oven as well as the double wall convection ovens and she only uses the Advantia. She loves it! It cooks a baked potato in 10 min. and the potato comes out with a crispy skin and is dry and fluffy on the inside. She says it roasts meats just like a convection oven and in half the time. It is pricey, I think she paid $1200 for hers, but she says it's worth every penny. I think the KA is compariable.
