Waxing anyone?

Just read an article about a woman who got cellulitis (sp) from a bikini wax...at a reputable salon. Just wondering for those of you who take part in this, do you take any special precautions? I've had them done for a few years now and, so far, no problems. But I wasn't even aware there could be any problems. They say the hair is there for a reason but I can't imagine having it all the time now. Still, I guess it's better than an infection.

tongue depressors should be dipped only once into the hot wax and thrown away after touching the skin (no double dipping). also, the esthetician should always clean hands in front of a client before the procedure. unfortunately, you're at the mercy of the esthetician and the establishment running the business. there are rules that are to be followed and not everyone follows them. also you may want to bring your own tweezers. tweezers are to be kept in an ultra violet light box to sanitize between uses, if your esthetician takes it off her table..ask questions.
