Watercooler Tuesday Talk

Evening all,
Went to the dr. appointment today. Got in on time and didn't take long for the nurse practitioner to see me. She diagnosed allergic rhinitis. She prescribed Clarinex and told me to get some saline spray. I then left the office, dropped off the prescription and went to Starbuck's for a non-fat chai latte and a treat. Went back to pharmacy 30 minutes later and picked up my prescription. I got home, took the prescription, but didn't really notice much of a difference while riding my bike. Still lots of mucous. Had a really good ride (5 of us) up a local hill. However, the ride back down was chilly, chilly! My hands were really cold, the kind of cold where when they thaw, feels like hammers are hitting them. Think we are back to warming up again. That's springtime. Felt good to be climbing, though I felt just a tad of fatigue from Sunday's ride. I'll ride again on Thursday afternoon, then Sunday.

Wendy, so glad your back is better today. You are smart not to push it. The Captain had a small tear in his rotator cuff (right shoulder) repaired, also bone spurs removed. He's really, really happy he had it done. The other one bothers him, but not nearly like the right arm did. He used to have back problems when he worked pulling lumber off of the production line in the sawmill years ago. Lots of guys got bad backs from handling lumber like that. Every once in a while, his back will bother him, but usually because the macho part comes out and he lifts too much instead of taking the time to get a forklift to lift something. I definitely do have a mean streak!!! Just ask my DH! However, Lynette is gone for tonite and all is bliss again in the Kindle household. Came home and DH had a paintbrush in his hand and had done the dishes.

Laurie, won't it be nice when your boss is gone for a spell? It's always more relaxing. I enjoyed the weight work today with 4DS (biceps & triceps). Think I will do legs tomorrow and then again Friday. When your DH gets back, hope he starts sewing on your dress. Our dogs like soft places to sleep too. Both of them are on the couches right now. We've spoiled them rotten. I think I'd like to buy the weighted vest (20#er) and maybe the slanted risers, plus 25 and 30# DB's. May check out the used sports equipment store in Reno. There must be one in that town, I'm thinking.

Nicole, Christi workouts are sure fun, aren't they? I like the music so much in most of them. Love her personality too. We went to Yosemite about 5 years ago. Beautiful! I'd never been before and think every Californian should go in their lifetime. We went in May and it was just starting to get crowded and the falls were beautiful. We camped in Wynona (or something like that) campground, which is about 30 minutes drive from the valley floor. My DH was wanting to buy a new car for us last night, part of what made me growly. No talk of it tonite. Don't want the payment.

Patricia, everyone has different likes/dislikes for workouts. I personally love Christi's choreography. She keeps my mind occupied. I'm discovering that Amy Bento does too. If you think construction workers stare, try working in a men's prison like I do. Of course, I'm getting to be one of the older gals now so I don't turn too many heads, just the really desperate, perverted inmates, YUK!

Wendy, okay girl, you'll have to give me a website to look up some jeans. You're talking a different language. What does AG stand for?
You look really cute in tighter jeans, I just feel like my butt is too big and want to hide it. Of course, this is coming from someone who wears cycling shorts that definitely are not flattering LOL!

Latrese, miss you girl. Hope Ted is doing okay. I've got a ton of stuff to do at work, but had to leave early for a dr. appointment today. Much to do tomorrow.

Traci, I DO remember thinking of you guys last year when I was riding my triathlon bike section. I could hear the cheering crowds, cowbells, just like the Tour Day France LOL! I'm pretty excited about it. I think I may drive down to Auburn the week before and ride the course like I did last year. Think the other 2 gals may want to do it too, though they will be participating in different activities (swim and run). It's just such a beautiful course and perfect time of year for that country (May). May weekends are going to be busy I can see, starting with my first metric organized ride near Redding on Sunday, May 4th. Now that you know there is a Lynette, you may hear me blaming more things on her. Believe me, she was in rare form last night. Poor DH.

Patricia, great suggestion to Traci on writing off the retreat, though I think she probably already did. Now I know how she hurt her shoulder LOL! Glad you enjoyed LIC. Have you done Cardio Fusion? I like that one too.

Kim, good job on the toe pushups in PUB. I can't even remember pushups in that one. Great job on the 20#ers for chest work. The diagnosis for my mucous was allergic rhinitis and Clarinex was prescribed. Right now I feel pretty dried up. Hope it helps. I'll stay on it for a while and see if it takes care of the yuk. The gal that is in contact with (regarding my upgrade at work) was in training today, so no answer. Maybe by the end of this week. I have a meeting with the Warden on Friday over budget stuff so will ask her then if she's heard anything.

Debra, I definitely know the feeling when a dog runs into your knee from the wrong angle. That Polly! I sure miss scratching her ears. DH won't work for wine, but he will work for beer. Tecate to be exact. Did Julia wear an elephant costume? DH makes really good clam chowder. Hmmm, that would have been nice tonite, when I was half frozen from the bike ride. He did have a nice fire going in the stove when I got home.

Must go now, pleasant dreams,

Jeanette
