Watercooler~~~~~Jimmy Buffett Tuesday!

Hi Coolers,
Didn't get the bike ride in tonite. 3 of us ladies met, but the weather was very windy and it started to spit rain so we decided to bag it and do it tomorrow, when it's predicted to be better. Same place, same time.

I just ordered my Platemates from Fitness Wholesale. I got a pair of 1.25#ers and a pair of 2.5#ers. Think I will wait and see what weight vest Cathe comes out with. I'm looking for a 20#er.

Wendy, my DH does very thorough massages. No complaints with those skills. My neck is all better now. My legs were pretty "burny" this morning from my long ride on Sunday. I don't know what you call that phenomenon, but it happens every time I do a long endurance event. It's like I have to clear out the bad stuff in my system. Do you have to haul the harp often? How heavy is it? The Honda Civic won't be as handy for putting the bike in as the Jeep, but hey, for the fuel economy, I think I can tough it out. I'm glad your back pain is better. I had some ache in my shoulder and upper arm on Sunday and Monday nights. Almost like the back of the shoulder joint.

Patricia, I have Turbo Jam #1 and like that one probably better than KPC. I need to pull it out sometime. The car I bought is a used 2007 Honda Civic LX, nothing fancy, but nicer than my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Doesn't have navigation, which is fine. It's gold in color. I have to make an appointment tomorrow to take it in for a protective paint coating and have the upholstery protected. I like those VW bugs!!! I keep checking the blog for new pictures too. Hope we hear something soon. I'm really excited about all of us doing STS together. Hope it works out that we can all start around the same time.

Laurie, what did your co-worker say the prep is for a Buffett concert? I don't think Debra checked back so I'm sure wondering what she was doing. Did you get your run and weights in tonite? I should get off this couch and stretch my legs. That would definitely feel good, but I'm sooooo lazy.

Tracy, we will miss you and your expertise on here. Check back in when you can. Hope the run was a good one. I was really wanting to ride today, but wind and rain prevailed this time.

Kim, interesting to read about what an OT does. Very, very interesting.

Must go now. Anyone have a weighted vest to recommend?

Good evening!

Wendy - 2 sessions with Eoin yesterday? LOL! Yes, he's good! My dear sweet Wendy, got your email. Will reply in the morning when I'm not so tired and the screen doesn't feel so bright on my tired eyes. Oooh, you got a new DESK! I must have read too quickly. I'm so astonished (and alarmed) to hear that IKEA is floundering in places. You certainly couldn't say that here. I'm not sure how soon I have to do the 50 hours of service. Yes, I think you're right about AmyX's DH. No, I didn't ask her to share the cookies; I'd already had my share from that box the night before ;)

Carol - KPC isn't my favourite, either. I used it too much back before I had much kickboxing to choose from. I think it's a super good workout, though. I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves DrillMax. Out of that series, it was the one I thought I'd use the least, but it's the one I use the most.

Jeanette - The tired legs during exercise the day after a long ride is when the real "work" gets done. So, just keep telling yourself that, as you burn your way through. You got a new car!! That's exciting!! And yes, there is weight work in DrillMax. Fun weight work, using the stability ball, band, and 3,5&10lb dbs. Reminds me of PP/SS for it's fun factor. DrillMax is 6 circuits of high-intensity, short cardio and weight work. Too bad the weather was too lousy for the bike ride. I'll bet your legs were thanking you, though! What a nice memory about toffee peanuts. I'll bet if you had to scrimp so hard to afford them, you'd still savour them a few at a time.

Patricia - DrillMax has very similar impact to 4DS BootCamp cardio. Personally I don't consider it all that bad, but then, I compare everything to MIC, Imax3, or KickMax Blast Challenge, which are all off the charts for impact. That's funny about the makeup. People would do a double-take if I ever smeared on some rouge. One of the wonderful things about the KPC/LG dvd is the premixes of the two workouts together. Also, KPC itself has some shorter premixes that are really fun and useful. How was your yoga class? I'm starting to get anxious for more STS updates, too. They need a big picture of a screen on the blog, with the word Processing.... across it. I'm sure they're only doing tedious editing at this point.

Laurie - Didn't you say the other day that you're planning to give In the Ring a try this week? When will that be? That's so unfair for those girls who don't attend dance class frequently; it must be a frustrating experience for them. Tell those parents to get their kids to their class! Tell them because I said so :) I've never done the CoreMax premixes before, either, and I'm liking them more than the original workouts.

Tracy - Well, we'll sure miss you around here, but it's understandable that you're bored with us. When we don't have a unified fitness goal like we did with the X, it's harder to stay fitness focused. Maybe we'll see you again soon, when we start to work our way through STS.

Kim - Wow, I loved reading about your work! Thanks for all that! I'm so envious of those who figured out their careers early on, and got on with it. It was a DM day for me, too. Congratulations on your GREAT team placement!! That's pretty impressive!!

Debra - We're all waiting with baited breath to hear about Jimmy. How'd it go? How many of your sentences these days start with "I came out of my bedroom...." LMAO! It's too bad you won't get much break between your classes.

It's past my bedtime. Have a great evening. Heck, most of you are in bed already. See you tomorrow!
